I love when Tuesdays are really Friday. I could get used to this schedule: work 2 days, 1 day off, work 2 more days, weekend. Why is this not the normal schedule already?
I don’t know what you have planned for the 4th of July, but I hope it involves time with family, friends, and some good food.
Right now, I’m thinking my day will be filled with NO alarm clocks, a morning run, early blueberry picking, maybe watching a friend’s band play, a possible lunch cookout with pals, and a huge firework show in town to end the night.
This just means I’ll probably be sunburnt, way too full, and super exhausted on Thursday morning. Fun!
We’re not having a cookout of our own so I don’t have to menu plan at all, but I may whip up something to take with us – cookies are patriotic, right?
Holiday week or just good summer weather, these are some of our favorite recipes right now – make ’em while you can!
Chicken Spiedies with Farmhouse Bread
Spiced Chicken Kabobs and Chickpea Salad
Burgers with Avocado and Cilantro Mayo
Pepperoni Pizza with a super easy and fast crust
Drinks:
Strawberry Mint Sparkling Lemonade
Desserts:
Frozen Chocolate Dipped Cookie Dough
Whole Wheat Coconut Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake
Browned Butter Butterscotch Chip Cookies
Oatmeal and Zucchini Chocolate Chip Cookies
Raspberry Chocolate Chip Frozen Yogurt
Cheesecake Yogurt Chocolate Cups
Strawberry Rhubarb Double Crust Pie

Those strawberry feta skewers look perfect. I love 4th of July, it’s like a casual, summery version of Thanksgiving. But with less stress.

I definitely agree with you. Who looked at a week and said, there’s 7 days, let’s work 5 of them? I would much prefer 3 1/2 on and 3 1/2 off. :)
