We are ca-razy on Friday nights! Laying on the couch, and playing with our puppy?
I’m telling you – it doesn’t get crazier than that :)
My afternoon snack totally came from a healthy snack idea someone posted the other day: ants on a long.
Only I didn’t have any raisins, so I just brought some celery + cinnamon raisin pb.
It was really good, but very confusing at first! I kept expecting salty peanut butter, but this cinnamon raisin pb is sweet. I liked the combo, though! And it’s good to know this will work when I don’t have any raisins in the house.
Dinner tonight was leftovers from last night. Nick and I each had a turkey sausage with some of the pesto + kale pasta, plus some salad.
We fed Maggie and finished watching Public Enemies while we were eating dinner. The movie was pretty good, but really long and the story seemed to take a long time to unfold.
But I’ll watch anything with Johnny Depp :)
I’ve got to finish my grocery list so I can go shopping tomorrow, and I just can’t think of meals I want to make. I think having this cold and not being able to really taste much is keeping me from being inspired.
I guess I’ll look through a few cookbooks and the coupons I have…I hope I have a plan by the time I get in the store tomorrow!
There MAY be some vanilla ice cream eaten tonight….my throat hurts so bad, and I think it’ll help? We’ll see.
TGIF, right? Today is busy, but at least the day is flying by.
My head isn’t as stopped up as it was yesterday, which is good. But my throat hurts worse today :( I’m hoping that means this cold is on its way outta here! But there may be more ice cream in the cards tonight, if my throat is still scratchy when we get home.
Nick and I both had some leftovers for lunch today so we could clean out the fridge.
He had pizza; I had the rest of the chili with some avocado, and the last of my roasted brussels/mushrooms.
I guess the good thing about being sick is I can’t smell very well. Nick said my veggies smelled disgusting, but it didn’t bother me!
But he’s also not a fan of brussel sprouts. I still enjoyed them, and felt good knowing that I was getting in so many veggies at lunch today.
While we were on our lunch break, we headed over to Walmart to look at backpacks for the trip.
Well, I ended up finding the perfect little purse! I wanted one that I could put across myself (not just hang on one shoulder) so it would be more comfy to be wearing all day long in Spain.
I didn’t want one that was too big, but it did need to be big enough to carry my wallet, little camera, and things like chapstick and granola bars, etc.
I ended up and found one – AND it was only $3 and the only one left! It was like the little purse was just sitting there, waiting for me.
I love when things happen that way :) Definitely made me happy.
Well, I’m still feeling pretty crappy this morning, but we did get a 2 hour delay for work because of the ice!
So, we turned off our alarm clocks and cuddled with Maggie until we needed to get up and get moving.
Plus, that gave us time to really sit and enjoy breakfast :)
Nick cooked up the last of the bacon and some eggs while I cut up our last cara cara orange and made some oatbran for me.
Oatbran is the perfect base for eggs!
We also had some of our Sumatra coffee from Mill Mountain – it was perfect. That coffee syphon makes some good brew!
We’ve got about 30 minutes until we need to leave for work, so I’m going to play with Maggie. She doesn’t seem to care that I can’t breathe very well ;)
Do you have matching mugs or all different ones? What’s your favorite mug/cup?
