citrus cider punch floats

This is a very special recipe for a very special Tuesday.

Today, this is one of many stops on the How Sweet It Is Invisible Internet Friends Baby Shower!

We are SO excited to be celebrating Jessica and the sure-t0-be fabulously dressed baby that’s coming VERY soon! Seriously, the list of foods and drinks and desserts that people made for this shower is ridiculous in the best way.

And because this isn’t for any typical baby shower, this punch had to be a little bit different.

It’s fall – which means = apple cider! But not a hot, spiced apple cider. Or a cold apple cider with bourbon (although, those are totally delicious).

Nope – this punch is everything good about apple cider, with a little bit of bubbles from the sparkling water AND it’s topped with caramel buttered pecan ice cream. I know, I know – does that sound weird? It might. But just go with it. The tartness from the apple cider and orange juice is so, so, so good with the salty-sweet buttered pecan ice cream.

But if you’re not ready for that combo, feel free to use your favorite vanilla ice cream or even just a salted caramel.

I thought about adding a healthy dose of sprinkles to this, just because, but I decided to leave that for the other people on this baby shower train.

Seriously – don’t miss ANY of these recipes!!

Happy Baby Shower, Jessica!

Citrus Cider Punch Floats

This isn't your typical party punch. But for fall and winter especially, this should be on your to-make list. A mix of apple cider, orange juice, and citrus sparkling water are topped off with scoops of salty-sweet caramel buttered pecan ice cream -- the perfect combo of sweet and tart! Not into the whole "float" thing for a party? No worries - this punch is perfect without the ice cream, too!

  • 5 cups apple cider
  • 3 cups lemon lime sparkling water
  • 2 cups orange juice
  • butter pecan, caramel, or vanilla ice cream for topping

  1. In a large pitcher, stir the apple cider, sparkling water, and orange juice together. Keep the punch chilled until ready to serve.
  2. Top each glass of punch with a scoop of ice cream (my favorite is a butter pecan + caramel gelato - perfect with the tart cider and orange juice!)

  1. I love the fizzy with the ice cream!! Yes please.

  2. GIRL. i need this in my life now. thank you so much. you are the sweetest. XOXOXO

  3. Doesn’t sound weird at all. Sounds amazing! Can’t wait to try it! Perfect way to celebrate all the awesome-ness that is Jessica and her blog!

  11. WHY have I never thought of putting ice cream in cider before?! It’s genius! And I love your flavor choice too, buttered pecan? That’s heavenly!
