Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Our Daily Bread was my absolute favorite bakery when I was in school. My roommate and I frequented there because they had the best whole wheat chocolate chip cookies. And their bread was so good. I miss that place!

Oh this looks like a fabulous dish. I could eat it as my main meal. Would you consider linking it up to my “Under the Big Top Friday” link up? Here is the direct link – http://www.savannahssavorybites.com/2011/10/sweet-potato-custard-with-ginger-snaps.html

I love you. Seriously. Best cupcakes ever. Left out some of the sugar in the
Icing and used coconut manna instead of the butter aubstitute, and served them to a crowd of nonbelievers. Got asked for the recipe by everyone. And for those inquisitive- made about a dozen small but dense ones.

Hi! Thank you so much for stopping by! My recipes on his show were gluten free, but I’m not exclusively gluten free- I do a mix of gf recipes and non-gf. This bread is definitely NOT gluten free; it’s just a good, basic bread recipe.

I made chicken and dumplings for the first time today and it turned out very well! The only thing is the dumplings were dry in the center. What can I do to prevent that?

Hm…maybe try cooking them for just a bit less time? you definitely want them cooked all the way through, but try cooking them for a bit shorter time or keep the time the same and lower the heat just a little bit.

Ref: Chipotle and Cheddar Shrimp and Grits

Please list substitute ingredients for amateurs like myself. For example, in this recipe, it called for white and chipotle cheddar cheeses, neither of which my grocer (Safeway) have in stock. I didn’t know if I could use plain cheddar? Also, I didn’t know if I am to buy cooked or raw shrimp for this dish. I was at the grocery store when looking for these ingredients and decided to be safe, I would just pick another recipe rather than spend all that money on the wrong ingredients.

Just keep in mind your audience. That’s all I suggest.

The dishes I have tried are a real hit at the potlucks I attend!

Hi Michael – for this, any cheese would work great! You just want something that melts well in the grits. And the shrimp is uncooked, since I specify to cook them, but you could also use pre-cooked and just heat them up with everything else. Sorry for the confusion!

Hi! I found your site via pintrest from the guest post on carrot orange ginger juice recipe. Excited to try that! :) . I’d love to try your farmhouse bread recipe. Do you know if this is one I could freeze? Either after the first rise or after baking? Thank you!

I’m so happy you want to try the bread! It’s my favorite. I haven’t tried freezing the raw dough before, but I’m sure it can be done (I do it with pizza dough all the time). You can definitely freeze it after baking (either in whole loaves or in slices) – just let it cool completely, wrap in saran wrap, then bag, and put in the freezer. For raw dough, I would let it rise the first time, separate into the 2 loaves and then wrap/bag/freeze. Then when you want to bake, let it thaw in the fridge and put it in the bread pan for the second rise before baking like normal.
