Two years ago, I was part of the blogger ambassador team with the California Raisins and worked to create some fun new recipes and share them with you guys. I am still so thankful for that trip and group of bloggers – we had the chance to stand between the vines, talk to the farmers, and find out everything there is to know about the goodness of raisins.

At the time, I knew raisins were good for you, but I didn’t realize just how good!

Zero fat, no cholesterol, and no added sugar. I mean….you can’t really get better than that on a nutritional label. Plus, raisins offer 9% of your daily fiber and potassium, and 6% of your daily iron (per quarter cup serving).

California Raisins are a great choice for healthy, on-the-go snacking or for adding an extra punch of nutrition into your holiday dishes. And bonus – they’re super affordable! According to the USDA, raisins are the most economical dried fruit option.

Since I’m such a raisin fan these days, I was really excited to team up with the California Raisins again to bring you a quick and easy snack for the upcoming holiday season.

I don’t know about you, but the majority of “snacks” around the holidays are either full of fat or sugar – or both! And while I love a good chocolate truffle or cheese tray, it’s nice to have some healthier options set out so you don’t overdo it. Things like veggies + dip, dried fruit and nuts, and these little raisin bites are perfect to keep around.

Even better? If you’re really craving something sweet, these are the perfect solution. The raisins bring a natural sweetness to these so you don’t need any added sweeteners! I love taking a few of these to work with me in the afternoon or keeping some in the fridge for quick and easy snacks to grab.

Coconut Oatmeal Raisin Bites

These little bites are the perfect afternoon snack, evening treat, or grab-and-go bite for whenever you need a little something to tide you over. Full of natural sweetness from the raisins, the oats, coconut, and almond butter add in some great texture and flavor. I store them in a covered container or ziploc bag in the fridge, and they last for at least a week - if I don't eat them before then!

  • 1 and 1/2 cups California Raisins
  • 3/4 cup quick oats
  • 1/4 cup shredded unsweetened coconut
  • 1/4 cup almond butter
  • 1 tsp cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt

  1. Place all ingredients in the bowl of a food processor.
  2. Turn on medium speed and let it go until the majority of the raisins are chopped up.
  3. Grab a small clump and pinch it to see if it holds together. If it doesn't, add a little more almond butter and process for another minute. It will still be fairly crumbly in the food processor, but as long as it holds together when you make a ball, you're set!
  4. Grab about a tablespoon at a time, and form into a round. Let them chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving.
