picture of the year

This is what we’re up against, every day.

A few weeks ago, I went to our bedroom to put my pajamas on, flipped on the light, and found her like this.

In the covers, head ON my pillow, in the dark, asleep.

And then she got upset because I woke her up. Uh….excuse me, Princess Maggie.

Did I mention that she was in bed at 8:30 pm? She’s such an old lady.

And welcome to my life!

I have so many other things I want to post (crafty stuff, random dog pictures, music, etc) and I didn’t want this stuff junking up the main page. So the main/home page will stay recipes, and this “a slice” page will be everything else.

I couldn’t think of a better way to let you guys in than this. This, right here, is the real behind the scenes. I mean, we’re so boring that our dog goes to bed at 8:30 without us. Maybe we should work on that.

  1. Haha, this makes me laugh because I have the same problem. Only mine is slightly smaller. A 10 pound pup is probably much more manageable. :)

  2. Awww so cute! I’d totally sleep at 8:30 with her if I could!

  3. haha I had the same problem last night. Woke up around 10pm and our little dog (less than 10 pounds) had pushed hubby and I all the way over to the opposite side of the bed and was taking up my pillow

  4. Awww do you have a Brittany? I grew up with them but haven’t seen one in years! She looks like a sweetheart!

  5. Aww! Cute doggie. And I fully support the posting of more dog pictures. It would be great if you could insert one into every post, actually. :)

  6. Love this slice of your life!! Can’t wait for more!

  7. Haha, my parents dogs go to bed way sooner than that, so don’t worry. ;)

  8. Maybe if you play the banjo for her, she’ll perk up a bit. :)

    • Not likely. Nick and I were playing last night, and she was sleeping on the couch, right in between us. I guess we’re not good enough yet to keep her awake :)
