Whole Wheat Orange Rolls redo

by admin on October 4, 2012

Remember those orange rolls I finally got right last year?

Well, I tried them again for a recipe contest, and – thankfully – they still turned out great!

Smart Balance has a recipe contest going on right now with 20 bloggers and their favorite recipe.

One of my favorite recipes ever is obviously these rolls. They’re soft and full of bright orange zest, then topped with a glaze that you’ll want to eat by itself. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

If you’re looking for a fun weekend breakfast, here it is! These rolls are full of whole wheat flour, punchy orange flavor, and are waiting to wake you up with a cup of coffee.

The Smart Balance recipe contest just went live a day ago, so head on over and vote! the best part of this contest? If I win the recipe portion, I get to give away a trip to Canyon Ranch Hotel and Spa right here on the blog to one of you!

thanks Lori! Not all my recipes are gluten free, but you could definitely try making a recipe using GF flours!

These look sinfully delicious! Perfect for a holiday [or weekend] breakfast- I’d love to wake up to a warm one of these and a cup of coffee :) And since they’re whole wheat, they can’t be that sinful, right? Haha!

Hi Brandi! Wonderful job on Dr. Oz!! I am definitely going to try your recipes. I just looked at the ingredients for the rolls, and I have a question. Is there a big difference between wheat flour and wheat pastry flour? I would love to make these this weekend! Thanks & goodluck in the contest!

Thank you so much, Joy! Wheat pastry flour is milled from soft wheat and it’s usually better to use in tender baked goods like cakes and pastries, compared to regular whole wheat flour.

I’ve only attempted homemade cinnamon rolls once and they were a total flop! I think I need to take some tips for you lady.

Just saw you on Dr.Oz. You did a great job! Of course they didn’t give you enough time but it was great to see you. Hugs, Bobbi Jo
