This week is a week I’ve been waiting on for months.
It’s vacation week!
Nick and I haven’t been on an actual vacation in 3 or 4 years – it’s wayyyyy past time to make that up.
We’re not going anywhere exotic and we don’t even get an entire week off, but it’s going to be fantastic. 5 days at the beach with our families – no agendas, no alarm clocks (besides the nephews), no worries. I’ve got books ready to read, a bathing suit ready to break in, and naps to be had.
I didn’t think that vacation week would mean cookies…but Nick and I got a request on the phone today from our nephew for cookies, so we may be making a batch in a couple of days, just for him.
You really can’t say no that face, can you? I can’t.
Cookies are a really big deal in this house.
They’re the #1 dessert choice, all the time, so finding new cookie mix-ins and flavors is one thing I’m always working on. Classic chocolate chip will probably always be the top choice, but we have fun trying new cookies – no bakes, frozen bites, cookie cakes, triple chip…you name it, we’ve had it.
Vacation week or not, baking a fresh batch of cookies is always a good idea. Your house will smell delicious, your family will love you, or you can give them away and make some new friends. Everyone loves cookies.
Here are some of our favorites – what’s your favorite cookie?
