Remember when I made pudding?

Well, that pudding was tweaked, made again, and layered into these ridiculously rich parfaits with peanut butter, chocolate, and an extra pinch of salt. Aka, now that pudding is even more dangerous.

Before this recipe, I had never made a real parfait. Sometimes I wonder why I wait so long to make some of the easiest recipes.

The caramel pudding is exactly what you want: smooth, sweet, and super rich.

There’s a layer of peanut butter chocolate whipped cream (made with cream, dark chocolate, and Smooth Operator peanut butter) and some slightly sweetened whipped cream to balance out the sweet pudding with a little cocoa and some salt.

The only suggestion I have?

Okay, I have two.

1. Make these, and make sure you make a few extra…to test out.

2. Scoop all the way to the bottom and get every layer, in every bite. You won’t be sorry.

Check out the recipe today on the Peanut Butter & Co All Star Recipe Blog! I’m excited to be sharing a recipe using my favorite brand of peanut butter. Have you tried their White Chocolate Wonderful yet? That one is my kryptonite.

Want to win a jar of the Smooth Operator pb so you can make your own parfaits? Just comment on the recipe post from the prompt at the end and you’ll be entered!

Summer Vegetable Bacon Carbonara

July 26, 2012
summer_vegetable_bacon_carbonara4

You’d think I would have learned my lesson by now. Anytime I make a new recipe, I’m super excited about it…while I’m eating it and taking pictures. But then, 2 weeks pass and by the time I’m ready to post it here, I’m just not that interested in it anymore because there are new recipes [...]

Something strange has happened in the past couple of weeks. Nick and I have fallen in love with some new cookies…and they’re butterless. Is that even scientifically possible? You know how we’re in love with everything at Our Daily Bread, the local bakery? Well, there are some new cookies on their shelves that have taken [...]

So…the green beans have taken over again. We knew it was coming. As soon as we filled the mail bin on the first pick…we knew we were in for weeks and weeks of green beans. We’ve picked the rows 3 or 4 times, refilling our mail bin and biggest bowls, over and over. Someone save [...]

Roasted Chicken with Creamy Artichoke Rice

July 19, 2012

There are some things that I feel like I’ll never get over. Zach and Kelly breaking up at prom (sob). The last episode of Full House. Michelle almost killed in a horse riding accident? Maybe this is why I’m so finicky with horses. Some of the outfits – that we have photographic evidence of – [...]

Cookies’n’Cream Chocolate Cake

July 18, 2012
cookies_n_cream_cake3

It’s that time of year again. The one time a year I make a layer cake. Or, if I’m being honest, the one time a year I completely freak out in the kitchen while I’m watching cakes bake in the oven. Last year, it was Nick’s birthday cake. This year it happened because I had [...]

Every Sunday, I have great intentions. I know I’m going to get everything done that needs to be done. I usually leave a list on the table for me to check when we get back from church. Laundry. Cleaning. Canning. Prepping food for the week. Packing lunches. Clearing out whatever pile of paper is on [...]

Pancake Party! Blueberry Walnut Oatmeal Pancakes with Vanilla Maple Glaze

July 14, 2012

You guys know how I feel about breakfast. If there was some magical way to make every meal feel like breakfast, I would do it. If it was socially acceptable to eat every meal in my robe with a hot cup of coffee in one hand, I’d be the first to sign up. If breakfast [...]

Canning 101 and Can It Forward Giveaway

July 13, 2012
strawberry_rhubarb_jam

The other night, Nick and I were in the garden, picking row after row of green beans, when it hit me: this is not how I ever would have imagined my life. I mean…growing up, I was sure I would be living on a street named after me in a mansion with my husband, Taylor [...]

Creamy Avocado Rice

July 12, 2012

There are some things that just aren’t good ideas. Wearing socks with sandals. Trying to carry all your grocery bags into the house in one trip without spilling your coffee. Keeping your cumin or cayenne next to your cinnamon in the cabinet – this is just asking for oatmeal trouble. Drinking orange juice right after [...]
