spaghetti aglio, olio e peperoncino and a spicy Nudo Italia giveaway

by admin on June 6, 2012

Father’s Day is coming up – have you bought a gift yet? Will you?

Does your dad like concerts or ball games or golfing? Do you buy the usual tie or dress socks and call it a day?

Let’s do something better this year.

For my dad, there are 4 things I know he will love:

Coffee. Anything Virginia Tech related. Hockey game tickets or gear. Good food – a dinner out, gift certificate, or just sharing a meal together with the family when we’re together.

I didn’t get to make this meal for my dad, but….he would have been sweating, I’ll tell you that much. I think I underestimated just how hot these little Italian chillies were – Nick and I both finished the meal with burning lips and downed a couple glasses of water each.

Just a heads up – don’t use as many chillies as I did. They’re spicy! We LOVE spicy food, so it was fine for us, but I would definitely cut down a bit if you’re not a fan of super spicy pasta.

Nudo has a great gift set, perfect for Father’s Day if your dad likes spicy foods, pasta, or spicy pasta.

I fell in love with the Nudo Mandarin Orange olive oil last year (and am still hoarding the last few drizzles) and have now crossed over into the garlic oil obsession.

Did you know you can adopt your own olive tree with them? Awesome, right? Adopt a tree and you get the oil from your tree during the year, plus some of their other incredible flavored olive oils, too.

If your Dad isn’t into spicy foods, get him some flavored oils to use for grilling or to make his own pasta mixes. Or adopt an olive tree in his name and let the gifts keep on giving that year.

Thankfully, Nudo wants one of your Dad’s (or you, if you already have a gift for your Dad) to have this Aglio, Olio, Pepperoncino Gift Set, too!

I’ve got one set to giveaway that comes with all this, including those super spicy chillies. Seriously, don’t try to be brave with ‘em. You’ll be sorry.

·      One 250ml tin of Nudo’s olive oil, stone ground with fresh Italian garlic

·      One 500g box of organic spaghetti

·      One 50g box of dried Calabrian chillies

·      One beautifully designed, reusable Nudo spaghetti tin

·      One recipe card for spaghetti aglio, olio e pepperoncino, a classic Italian dish

Want to win this set to make your Dad a spicy pasta feast this year?

Tell me what you love about your Dad.

Want an extra entry?

Tweet about the giveaway and let me know you did: @Branappetit is giving away a spicy @NudoItalia gift set for Father’s Day! http://www.branappetit.com/?p=19150

Good luck!

I love how hardworking my dad is. He’s works on ships so he’s only been home for half my life (2 weeks out at sea, 2 weeks home since I was born). He’s sacrificed a lot to provide for us!

I love my dad because he is not afraid to hug, kiss, cry, and show his emotions. To me, that is the sign of a true man.

I love my dad because he never stops helping me. Like last month when I was stranded at an airport two hours away at 2 am. He came and picked me up. He’s a rock star.

I love my dad’s sensible, no-nonsense personality, as well as his ability to really listen to others and see their point of view, even if his is different. I think that’s why he’s such a great principal!

This is easy…….My dad has always been my rock! He is kind and thoughtful and ALWAYS there for me! Him and my mom got divorced when I was 14 and I lived with him! A couple months ago my mom passed away and he was here in about 5 minutes after I called him! On top of being an amazing dad he is also an awesome grandpa to my kids! He is loving and fun with my kids! He comes to all of their soccer games and school programs even when it messes with his sleep (he works nights)! On top of all of this he listens to me and takes everything I say to heart! He doesn’t always follow my advice but I know he values my opinion! My dad is the best and I’m so glad he is such a big part of our family!
