So, my computer finally crapped out last week.
It’s a 6 year old laptop that lived through 3 years of grad school, a few viruses, and almost 3 years of blogging. That’s gotta be like 23 in computer years.
I can still turn it on and use things like Microsoft Office, but it will no longer connect to the Internet. Not even if I go old school and plug the ethernet cord right into the side of it.
Since then, I’ve been using Nick’s computer to work and to blog.
Tip: If you’ve been using Microsoft LiveWriter and have to go back to using WordPress? Plan for another hour or so to put a post together. Be ready to sit and twiddle your thumbs waiting for your pictures to upload. Don’t expect for them to fall into place where you cursor is – that would be too easy. They’ll go in wherever they want to go in.
And sadly, when my computer finally went down, I lost a few pictures from some new recipes I had made.
A week or so ago, I made some awesome sea salt caramel brownies but I lost the pictures during “the crash”.
I am so bummed I can’t post them yet…but I guess that just means that I need to make them again so I can take some new pictures!
Until then, I’ve got a few recipes ready and waiting, but I’m still mourning the loss of my brownie pictures and can’t decide what to share next.
And since I like polls and voting (especially the “Who Wore it Best” poll on People.com – do you ever do that?), I thought I would open this up for you guys to tell me what recipe you want to see first!

I know it’s Friday and you’re probably not thinking about bread. And maybe I put the blondies last because they’re the only option that has chocolate. But can you blame me? Look at those chocolate chips.

Sorry about the computer woes. My laptop is on its last legs too — got it about 6 years ago and it’s survived studying for the CPA exam, work, blogging, tax returns, etc.

Brown butter blondies!!
Ah, computer crashes suck when in involves blogging. I’m cool with losing documents (I say that now and will freak when it actually happens)…but losing photos really sucks. Not that remaking the recipes is horrible, but it’s still something extra that now has to be done!
wow, they all sound delicious (especially those caramel sea salt brownies–please make them again!!)…but for now, i vote for the french toast with spiced butter! Thanks for sharing. I can’t wait to make the butterscotch pumpkin cake/blondies!
the pumpkin swirl bread. however if we can we vote for something not listed?? perhaps a pumpkin bread or any kind of bread really with chocolate? that way both the bread and the chocolate angles would be covered :)
