Last night, someone asked me two of the hardest questions I’ve ever had to answer.
First – what is my favorite dessert to bake?
And second – what is my favorite dessert, period?
These are not fair questions.
How in the world are you supposed to pick one favorite dessert? I don’t have kids yet, but I would think this is just as hard to answer as if someone asked you to pick a favorite child.
Although I will say, it was easy to pick cookies as my favorite dessert to bake. Since Nick could handle a new batch every day, I know cookies are always welcome in the house.
Plus, homemade cookies aren’t too complicated, they don’t take too long to make, and nothing beats a fresh out of the oven chocolate chip cookie.
But favorite dessert to eat? Like out of every single dessert I’ve ever had in my life?
I grew up with chocolate constantly smeared all over my face. Every dentist visit growing up ended with me having to get cavities filled.
Sweets are a big part of my life and sugar is in my blood.
And after thinking about it for a minute, cookies ended up being the answer to both questions.
A warm, straight from the oven chocolate chip cookie when the chips are still melted is just about the best thing ever. Give me a plate of cookies, a cold glass of milk, and I’m happy.
PS: I made these cookies for Nick before I left on a trip this week. It made 4 dozen. We’ll see how many are left when I get home tonight. Do you think he can eat them all before I get home?

I loveeeeeeeee to bake cookies too. But for some reason, I like baking bars more. These look fantastic. I am loving adding PB/AB into different recipes right now. My favorite dessert ever? Plain graham cracker crust (yup, nothing in it) or a fruit crisp
I love making bars too! Love that you love plain graham cracker crust :)
I love making cookies! Annnnd I love anything with pb in it!
Yummm! These sound and look fantastic :)
Mmm, nothing beats a nice, simple cookie (I say as I polish off a mini packet of oreos…) They’re much more comforting than a crazy elaborate dessert!
My husband is a cookie fiend. I think he and Nick would get along. Until they were down to the last cookie ;)
i wouldn’t be able to answer that question either! too many favorites :) …cookies like these included!
You’re right, that isn’t a fair question! There are SO many choices. But I’d have to agree, nothing really beats a good homemade cookie.
I agree. Not a fair question. I always struggle when people ask me things like that or what my favorite recipe is.
Yup, I bet they’ll be gone! And I don’t know how to answer that question either… too many options :)
Ever since I started blogging, my favorite desserts to eat and bake are constantly changing!
These cookies look terrific and definitely would be on my eating and baking approved list:-)
People always ask me what my favorite thing to bake is, and it’s such a hard question to answer! These cookies look uuhhh-mazing, by the way!

Yes, please! If I were Nick my sweet tooth would have gotten the best of me. Hopefully there are a few left when you get home!
I say those cookies are gone by the time you get home for sure. Cookies just have a way of disappearing!
