Back Home

We made it.

One week and 2 days away from home. 5 days of construction, medical clinics, painting, playing with the kids, and most of our team getting sick.

We are home.

Wednesday felt like the longest day ever. Our flight out of Honduras was delayed 2 hours. We got into Dulles with barely enough time to make it through Passport Control and Customs, but somehow, that flight was delayed an hour, giving us just enough time to get our only real meal of the day.

At 5 am Thursday morning, we got into bed, slept until 9:30, ate breakfast (at lunch time), and got back on the road for home.

Our AC wasn’t working and it was 85 degrees in the house yesterday.

And now, after a not-so-restful- hot night of sleep, our house is cool, laundry is done, and I’m happy to be home.

I’ve got an exciting night ahead of putting together my grocery list for next week – magazines, cookbooks, and a pen are all I need.

What’s on your menu plan for this week?  It’s always strange to think about this again after being gone.

PS: I missed this little girl a lot.
