I realized something.
I don’t have any dishes on my blog that are red + white + blue. Think I need to change that? I do, too.
Of course, now I’ve missed the boat for this year, but I plan on having a few for next year, for sure!
In the meantime, do you know what you’re making this weekend? Are you having a cookout or going to someone else’s? Bringing a dish to share or just grilling out at your own place?
Nick and I have some fun plans this weekend, including a “brinner” Sunday night and firework watching Monday night! I can’t wait.
Still not sure what all I’m making this weekend, but these are some of my favorite July-friendly foods right now.
If you’ve got fresh berries (which you should!) use them to make these crisps, crumbles or coffee cake or this blueberry coffee cake!
If you’re bringing a side dish to a cookout or picnic, these are my favorites. All summery, NO mayo (so no worries about it sitting out for a few hours), and healthy, too.
Black Bean, Balsamic, and Feta Salad
And – my latest favorite – Quinoa with Zucchini, Blueberries, and Feta
If it’s blazing hot this weekend and you can’t even think of turning on the stove or the oven, please please make these.
Frozen Chocolate Dipped Cookie Dough – and they’re vegan! i.e. safe to eat since there’s no raw eggs. They’re a good idea.
What’s on your menu this weekend?

Brinner! Best meal :) Enjoy it. And crisps/crumbles are always my most favorite dessert. I am bringing an appetizer and side dish to my Aunt’s party on the fourth. The app is going to be sort of a random platter of goodness with brie covered in a peach chutney, pepperoni, crackers, grapes and nuts. My side dish is going to be a roasted potato and green bean salad with pesto on top.
That frozen cookie dough sounds amazing! Hope you are enjoying the long weelend:-)
Great selections! I am about to click on the cookie dough link! Happy 4th!
Have a great weekend! that feta and bluebs salad would be perfect for a backyard bbq :)
Ooo, you offered a nice selection! We’re having a bbq, with mac n cheese and corn and red white and blue cheesecake for dessert…mmmm! :)
Looking forward to meeting you in person soon!
You too, Michelle!
i have no red white and blue recipes either! Not quite sure how I managed that one…
I love all of these salads, though! For the fourth or for any other day!
