First Harvest + Keurig Winner

by admin on June 23, 2011

We pulled the first harvest from our garden a few days ago!

These radishes were only planted about 3.5 weeks ago – I couldn’t believe some of them were ready so soon.

We didn’t even have to try to decide whether they were ready or not. A few of them were just sitting, waiting to be pulled with their ruby red shoulders pushing through the top of the sandy soil.

We enjoyed the first radishes on a salad the other night and sliced on top of hunks of farmhouse bread that was slathered in Kerrygold butter.

I can’t wait to see what comes in next!

Thanks to everyone who entered the Keurig Giveaway – I wish I had one to give to all of you.

The randomly selected winner is…

Emily

I’m very curious to try the Dark Magic coffee flavor you mentioned in your post!

Congrats Emily! Please email your name/address to branappetit [at] gmail and your prize will be on its way Smile

Do you have anything growing in your garden yet? What fruit/veggie are you most excited for this summer?

So fun! They’re beautiful :) Yes! We have had a bundle of jalapenos, a few squash and a couple tomatoes. Unfortunately, the crazy heat down here is starting to kill EVERYTHING ahhh!

Congrats on the first fruits from your garden! That is such an exciting time and that’s a great idea to slice radishes on bread and butter (esp. Kerry Gold) Yum!! I love your blog and look forward to following!

Gorgeous! I am so jealous of your bounty. It makes me think that maybe I should be a suburban rather than urban dweller.

Isn’t it fun to your own food? We don’t have much of a garden this year but Isaac’s parents have a huge one. I love going over to their house and to check out what’s growing.
