HomeGoods–Shop Till We Drop

Early Saturday morning during BlogHer Food, I had the chance to – literally – shop till I dropped.

And it wasn’t just me!

HomeGoods, along with BlogHer, had a group of bloggers come over to the launch of a new store in Atlanta.

I was really excited about this because we don’t have a HomeGoods here. I’ve heard of it, sure, but I had never been in one before.

I was lucky enough to come along with Susan from Doughmesstic, Carrie from Fields of Cake, Julie from The Little Kitchen, Sheri from Tickled Red, and Leslie, from The Hungry Housewife.

Opening up a store early for a group of women to shop? That HomeGoods team is smart.

Did you ever watch Supermarket Sweep growing up?

I did. All the time. I would shout at the tv while they were running through the aisles. “Go get the meat! Grab some medicine! Stay away from the cereal – you won’t get enough!!”

Our little shopping spree wasn’t nearly that intense, but it was definitely fun and we all found some great stuff.

HomeGoods greeted us with a spread from Panera for breakfast since we were there shopping at 8 am. After fueling up and hearing from the HomeGoods team, we grabbed our baskets and got moving.

I saw one book that reminded me of a certain bacon and sprinkle loving friend Smile

And started filling my basket with all kinds of goodies.

I found some really cute mini loaf bakers, mini frying pan saucers, a butter yellow cake stand, polka dot plates and a stand, a tart pan, wood cutting board, roasted walnut oil, and…

…a Breville Juicer!!!

Okay, I didn’t find it. Susan did.

But after following her around the store and looking for another one (and maybe a bit of begging), she let me have it. We live just 5 minutes away from each other, so I told her should could come over and have juice any time.

I am so excited!!!

I ended up spending more than I planned (especially with the juicer), but it was all at great prices and much cheaper than if I had bought everything at a different store.

Lucky for you, there are a few HomeGoods giftcard giveaways going on right now! Check out Susan’s site and Chris’ recap for your chance to win a giftcard of your own.

Now – what do I use first?

Any juice combinations I should try first? Suggestions on what to use that walnut oil for?

  1. You all must of felt like kids in a candy store! Fun day!

    • That’s a good way to describe it :) I’m now addicted! Which makes me really sad that we don’t have a HomeGoods here.

  2. I say go with banana nut muffins and use some of the walnut oil in those!

  3. I love Home Goods but don’t have one near me… probably better because that store can be dangerous!

  4. What fun! You girls are so cute. :)

  5. there’s the juicer – wee! if you are adventurous, you should try some red, yellow or orange bell pepper (along with things like apple, carrot…) it is GOOD. :) Beets and ginger are also favorites of mine.

    this looks like FUN.

    • thanks! i think i’m going to try some carrot, apple, and ginger this weekend and work my way up to more veggies + greens :)

  10. Homegoods ROCKS! We just got a piece from there for our bedroom. I’m all about the discount!

  11. I LOVE homegoods! It’s my go-to when I feel that little shopping itch and just need to buy *something*. In addition to kitchen stuff, they have great sheets.

For juice, I’d have to say start with the classic carrot-ginger. So good!

  12. Ahhh so cool! I’d love to have a shopping spree in HomeGoods, especially lately. I’ve had so many ideas of what to do with this place that home shopping has been happening a lot. Although, it’s more of a “browsing” than shopping because I’m so cheap.

  13. ahhhh that is amazing! i want a juicer so bad. and a tart pan. and well, the walnut oil sounds pretty dang good too. more importantly, i loved supermarket sweep and would really like that show to come back on the air.
