BlogHer Food 2011, Day 2

The BlogHer Food conference was two days of constant movement. Sessions, sampling, mingling, repeat.

Day two started off a bit differently (no welcome speech) but still offered two breakout sessions along with more time to visit with the sponsors, try samples, and talk with other bloggers.

And I somehow ended up missing the first session, which was okay, because I was one of the first to try this incredible Scharffen Berger dessert. Don’t you love how their set up was just like a mini-store?

During the lunch break, they shuttled groups over to the Sweet Auburn Market in downtown Atlanta to walk around, grab some lunch, and get some fresh air.

(And yes, that is David Lebovitz. I sat in one of his sessions, and he is so funny. But I was never close enough – or brave enough – to go up and introduce myself. Maybe next time!)

Look who I ran into – Danica! I met her and her husband at the Foodbuzz Festival in 2009, but I hadn’t seen her since that conference. It was so fun to hang out again. Her and her husband are so fun and friendly – I’m so glad we got to meet up a few times this weekend.

I was lucky enough to see Sues and Chels from We Are Not Martha every day this weekend – we met at Foodbuzz two years ago, too, but it was so much fun to really hang out and talk this time. And Mandy (also in the picture) from Home With Mandy is so sweet. She brought bbq sauce from Austin to share, and I can’t wait to use it!

I got to meet so many new friends and bloggers that I really look up to and admire.

One of those people is Marla from Family Fresh Cooking. I’ve been reading her blog for so long and it was so nice to finally meet her in person! We’d been commenting back and forth for a while – it’s so funny how meeting some bloggers in person is just like seeing an old friend that you haven’t seen in a while, even when you’ve never met face to face.

I had such an amazing time and really hope to attend more BlogHer Conferences in the future.

None of this would have been possible without Stonyfield and I am so thankful for their sponsorship to the conference.
