This Weekend

We pulled down the fruit wallpaper in the kitchen!

No more fruit border. No more bright pears and bananas on the walls.

It feels better already, and only 1/3 of the room is painted! There will definitely be pictures once we’re finished, but there’s still quite a bit of work to do.

And, in the middle of taking down wallpaper and painting, I turned the dining room into a “bakery” for a snack break.IMG_2705

I made some awesome cookies…and the 3 and a half dozen of them were gone in 24 hours between the 4 of us.

But the best part of this weekend was getting to meet our friends’ new baby boy Sunday afternoon. I’m pretty sure I hogged him the whole time we were there, but I couldn’t resist! He is adorable and slept the entire time.

What did you do this weekend?

  1. Tearing down wallpaper is the worst, but I’m convinced cookies and cute babies can solve the worlds problems!

  3. oh! And this weekend- I spent a lot of time with Josh, we had dinner with my parents, worked out and got a lot done around the house- perfect!

  4. I love DIY projects! Can’t wait to see the final results. I watched some basketball and ate some good food this weekend. :-)

  5. YAY! It’s crazy how little, easy changes (okay – pulling down wall paper and painting SUCKS in my book – by little and easy I really just mean inexpensive and you can do it yourself without screwing things up :P) make all the difference! Can’t wait to see the finished product!

  6. I bet you’re glad to say “goodbye” to the fruity wallpaper. Ha!

    • you have NO idea how happy we are that it’s gone :) Even with the half painted kitchen and walls that still need spackling, it’s SO much better!

  7. Oh, your home is so nice. I love love love the kitchen!!!

  8. That’s making me want to tackle my home renovation ideas even more!! I’m kind of waiting until Michael getsw here in the summer, though..that way I wont have to do all the heavy lifting and painting alone.

    • it’s definitely easier when you have more than one person! and the work goes by so much faster, too.

  10. I love your makeshift kitchen!!!
