A Happy Holiday Chex Mix Prize Pack!

What says “Happy Holidays” more than Chex Mix?

The holiday season is often the only time of year I have any type of Chex mix, but I want to change that!

Thanks to MyBlogSpark, Chex, and Kroger, I received a holiday Chex prize pack (including two boxes of Chex and a $25 gift card to Kroger for additional ingredients) to try out some festive holiday recipes and find new ways to use Chex cereal all year round.

My favorite Chex Mix recipes have always been the classic and puppy chow. I honestly haven’t tried any other variations, so this weekend, I decided to try a new recipe.

With a full day of football on Saturday and some nasty winter weather, it was the perfect day to make snacks and enjoy them during the games.

My choice?

The Big Game Chex Mix. It seemed fitting to have during the ACC Championship Game (Go Hokies!), and I love those honey mustard pretzels so I knew we would enjoy this one.

I didn’t have the smoked almonds, so I used roasted/salted cashews instead and I halved the entire recipe.

It still turned out delicious – crunchy, tangy and the perfect football-watching food.

And the best part?

I made this in less than 15 minutes AND I made it in the microwave! No oven required – just a few stops to stir and that was it. Easy!

Want a Chex Holiday Gift Pack of your own?

One lucky person will receive two packages of Chex Cereal along with a Kroger gift card to use to buy other ingredients you might need to make your dream Chex Mix.

Even better – the Kroger Family of Stores will have Chex cereal on sale so you can impress your guests without stressing your wallet. For 3 weeks, from December 2nd – December 25th, Kroger will offer Chex cereal at their lowest prices of the year!

  1. My current favorite way to eat chex is as morning cereal with milk & a little brown sugar. Or it’s also great to make doggie chow (I’ll always be a good UGA Bulldawg after all!)

  2. I love it to make puppy chow. Everyone loves that stuff!

  3. On the website, I think I would first try Chex Breakfast-On-The-Go for a morning pick me up!

  4. I like the classic seasoned chex mixes… but my mom makes this amazing almond bark coated stuff where she adds M&M’s and everything… amazing!

  5. Ahh I don’t know what they’re called but I love the Chex treats that are covered with powdered sugar…muddy buddies or something maybe?!

  6. Ooo Chex mix is the best–I love love love making puppy chow!

  7. I’d love to try the caramel corn recipe!

  8. oh my – puppy chow is the best stuff ever.
so so so so so additcting!

  9. I like to just eat it with milk but my daughter likes to make muddie buddies with it.

  10. I have never tried the puppy chow so I think I would like to make that with it.

  11. My grandmother always made homemade Chex Mix growing up around the holidays…and I have tried to make it many times and it never tastes like it did when she made it. To this day, Chex Mix reminds me of Christmas. :)

My favorite way to use it is for puppy chow! [Although I made the sweet & savory version last year and it was awesome…as is the Chai Chex Mix.]

  12. Puppy chow! Yum.

  13. I’ve never actually made it myself, but love puppy chow! My family calls it “garbage mix.”

  14. I like making the original version, but I always add tons of mixed nuts!

  15. I had no idea there were so many different chex mix recipes out there! Wow, I’m definitely going to have to make the snickerdoodle chex mix!

  16. Don’t enter me in your giveaway because I don’t have a Kroger near me, but my husband grew up eating nuts and bolts – i.e. with Cheerios and pretzel sticks, while I grew up with no Cheerios. We both grew up in the Chicagoland area too – weird!

  17. I actually just love to eat chex cereal for breakfast, or as an evening snack! :)

  18. I’ve been on a pumpkin kick lately, so that pumpkin pie crunch mix sounds yummy!

  19. Oh lordy, once I start eating puppy chow I can’t stop! One of my friend’s moms would always make it when I went over to her house, and we’d eat it in bed watching movies.

  20. Mmmm, my mother-in-law makes an addicting caramel Chex mix with cashews that is so good.

  21. I use Chex for breakfast oftentimes since it’s gluten free! (except there wheat version of course!)

  24. I love the classic; its a good snack.

  25. Looking at the recipes I think I would want to do my favorite the classic yet twist it up and use the gluten free chex-mix. No one in my family needs to be gluten free…but I think its probably a “healthier” way to go.

  26. My favorite way is mixed into chocolate balls. The bit of saltiness with sweet chocolate is delish.

  27. My absolute favorite is puppy chow! The chocolate-y, peanut butter-y, sugared goodness wrapped around chex cereal….yummmmmm! :)

  28. I just like to eat Chex as cereal — I’m not very exciting!

  29. puppy chow! i haven’t had that stuff in forever but i love it! we actually call it “trash” around here for some reason? best tasting trash i’ve ever had haha ;)

  38. Well I love chex mix the orginial flavor, then I love the muddy buddy kind, and I love chex cereal with a little splenda and a banana!

  44. I’d love to try Honey-Peanut Butter Bars! Chex as a DESSERT?? I’m in!! :)

  45. My favorite way to use Chex cereal is by using it as a basis for a white chocolate mix my dh enjoys. He adds pretzels and colored sprinkles.
