Getting things in the mail is one of my very favorite things.
Getting chocolate in the mail? Possibly the best thing.
Thanks to the Foodbuzz Tastemaker Program, I received some samples of Ghirardelli new Luxe Milk Chocolates to try!
I’ll normally choose dark chocolate over milk any day, but I’m equal opportunity when it comes to chocolate and I’ll give anything a chance.
Thankfully, this milk chocolate really lives up to its name! Their new milk chocolates are super creamy and smooth, and I love the flavors we received. The regular milk chocolate tasted like the best piece of smooth and creamy milk chocolate – ever.
The hazelnut was like nutella in bar form.
And that almond? Delicious. There were little bits of chopped almond throughout the square and it had a great texture.
Two thumbs up from me! I ate half of each square and left some for Nick – he really enjoyed them, too.
As for breakfast today…I should have kept one of those chocolate squares for my oatmeal ;) I’m sad I didn’t think ahead!
But my bowl of pumpkin banana oatmeal will be delicious as is.
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1 cup water
- pinch salt
- cinnamon
- 1/2 cup pumpkin
- 1/2 banana, sliced
- 1 Tbsp peanut butter
- 1/2 Tbsp dark chocolate chips for Friday!! :)
Yes, it’s in tupperware. I’m running late (as usual) and will be eating in the car on the way to work!
What’s your favorite chocolate treat?
Fancier choice? Any dark chocolate with sea salt. Delicious.
Also: my mom’s fudge pie, peppermint patties, reese cups, m&ms (especially the mint ones!), kit kats, and the chocolate cobbler from Cracker Barrel.
But one of my favorite things of all time…those little chocolate covered donuts and/or the chocolate covered Entenman’s. They are a kryptonite for me! I love ‘em.
I honestly don’t think I’ve ever NOT enjoyed something that was chocolate ;)

I think anything dark chocolate is my favorite chocolate treat. I will NEVER pass up dark chocolate!! :)
Have you tried the Ghirardelli pumpkin spice chocolate squares yet? TO.DIE.FOR.
Uh…how did I not know they make pumpkin squares?!?
You read my mind! I just posted about my favorite chocolate desserts because I am in SUCH a chocolate mood!!
Brownies are a classic, and I could eat them any day! I’m also all about Harry & David’s chocolate covered cherries. OMG!!!
I love milk chocolate… especially cookies that are heavy with the chocolate chips. I’m also a huge fan of brownies- but they have to be more fudgy and dense. I like to channel Paula Deen when making brownies and make sure there’s lots of butter to make them this way…
I use to LOVE peppermint patties and junior mints. I’m a big fan of the whole dark chocolate/mint thing. Guess thats why my favorite ice cream is mint choc. chip. Have a great day love!
Can I just ask a quick question? I’m new to the Foodbuzz Featured Publisher Program — but how do I become a part of the TasteMakers program?? This chocolate would’ve been right up my alley and I keep seeing everyone post about it!
Hi Katie! They had a page on the Foodbuzz website where you could sign up.
Favorite chocolate treat? A big, chewy chocolate chip cookie! Best right out of the oven.
Pumpkin oatmeal?! DUH. Why haven’t I thought of that?! I totally need a way to spice up breakfast, and I love anything pumpkin.
My favorite chocolate treats are anything that combine mint & chocolate. Also, things that are salty & sweet.
I had forgotten about that chocolate! I need to check the mail tonight! Sounds like it’s going to be delicious!
I would say my favorite chocolate treat used to be anything milk chocolate, but now that I have been eating dark chocolate for so long I just cannot do it anymore. I would have to say my favorites are anything from vosges. Their chocolates are simply amazing and if I am going to have something in milk chocolate, it is definitely something of theirs.
i am so utterly impressed with all the eats going on around here lately – those smores brownies, the chicken + apple curry (genius combination!), pumpkin spice lattes…i love it all!
and obvs i love chocolate.
almond joy, reese’s or peanut m&ms to be exact :)
Used to be a milk chocolate only snob. Little did I know what I was missing! With all the health benefits of dark chocolate that are now being touted, I eat about 1/2 oz dark choc a couple of times a week.
For a real treat, I love caramels dipped in dark chocolate and topped with kosher or sea salt, mmmm.
Susan
I love the chocolate-covered Entenmann’s doughnuts!! And I’m with you on the dark chocolate with sea salt.
The darker the chocolate the happier I am. I don’t do well with sugar and dairy so this solves my chocolate fix and my food problems.

Ooh, BEST chocolate treat is a toughie! I love good dark chocolate, but my mom also makes this fabulous cake with brown sugar frosting that’s just to die for.
