Healthy Living Blogs is a new resource for the health blogging community.  HLB is a site designed to enhance the positive community of the healthy living blog world. Bloggers and readers can explore the site and find more blogs to love, bloggers in their area, and forums to deepen healthy discussion and support. If you’re interested in having your site listed on HLB, simply send the following information to healthylivingblogs@gmail.com and check the site out for yourself!

Email subject line: MEMBERS

Your name (please share if you prefer to go by first name, first and last, or however you prefer to be known on the Internet)

Blog Name

Blog URL (please start with http://, not www.)

Your twitter handle, if applicable

Your location (if you prefer not to disclose this information for privacy’s sake, that is completely understandable. We’ll simply include your blog listing in the A-Z listing, not by location, too)

Any specific labels (i.e. vegan, gluten-free, weight loss, running, etc.)

I love this idea!

I actually thought of doing something like this and never got around to it, so I’m happy someone else is making it happen. I think having a roundup of similar blogs, including area, will be so helpful and offer great new opportunities to find new blogs and bloggers – especially ones near you!

While I read a variety of blogs, the majority do fall in the “healthy living blog” category because those are what initially got me hooked!

What types of blogs do you read the most?

And why do you read?

I love anything dealing with food (obviously), plus writing, home decorating, fashion, and ridiculous celebrity stuff for fun.

I get so much from the blogs I read! Ideas for decorating (which I have yet to put into practice in our home), fashion tips and inspiration, and, most importantly, new ideas for meals and snacks.

Reading blogs is one thing that helps me put my grocery list and meal plan together each week. I find so many new ideas, recipe revamps, or new pairings from blogs and really enjoy getting suggestions and reviews from other people with the same obsession with food.

  1. I know this isn’t about HLB but I’m so excited to see photos from your trip!! Welcome home :)

  2. I read blogs that inspire me, whether it’s to run further, make a better recipe, or just be a better person. Those are the kind of blogs I love.

  3. I read healthy living blogs. I love the new (new to me anyway!) food ideas, the inspiration, and the consistency. Sometimes when I am feeling down I can say to myself, “Hey, we all have an off day. ” and reading these blogs helps to remind me of that.

  4. love to get new recipe ideas and food finds! i’ve switched to blogs that primarily focus on recipes and triathlon-based ones for inspiration :)

  5. I’m on HLB now, too! I love that someone did it- great for trying to get meetups together and such.

I read mostly “healthy living”- especially blogs similar to mine. Which means trying to find new twists on old foods and maybe learning a little more about running/training/etc.

  6. What a great idea! Altho my Reader just cringed thinking about how many more blogs I will be adding to it…

  11. I am the same as you. I read so many fitness and healthy eating blogs each week and then build my menu and grocery list around ideas I have picked up.

I’ll be honest it has been the blogs that has kept me motivated and steadfast on the changes I wanted to make in my life.
