Weekend Kickoff

Still feeling better and better as the day goes on – not totally back to normal, but I’m getting closer! Hoping for a completely normal day by Sunday at the latest.

I finally found some of the new Larabar flavors here!

I really like the chocolate chips in this Brownie bar, but I can’t wait to try the cookie dough + pb choc. cookie flavors. I’ve heard great things about those two in particular.

Since it was so nice outside, we took Maggie to the park for some fresh air.

Doesn’t this look like the happiest puppy ever?

She loves being outside! Doesn’t matter what the weather is like or what we’re doing – she just wants to run.

Every time she came back with her kong, she just crashed on the ground.

And then she started eating grass.

My new favorite picture of her :)

Can’t beat this view!

We came home, heated up some leftovers, and I made tea.

I love this glass mug we got from the BrewRidge Festival! It’s the perfect size.

Made myself an Arnold Palmer with freshly brewed tea and a splash of Nick’s lemonade (made with real lemons and a bit of sugar). It was delicious! I haven’t had anything with lemonade in a long time.

Dinner was leftovers of the chicken, zucchini, squash, tomato and corn mixture over some brown rice/barley with some avocado on top.

We actually just got back from scoping out some houses for sale around here. We’re itching for something new, but there are a few other decisions waiting to be made about school/jobs before that happens. Sure is fun to look, though!

*Crossing my fingers I feel good enough in the morning for a run*

If nothing else- breakfast will be good :)

Happy Friday!

  1. What a delicious and healthy looking dinner!! Such yummy combinations of flavors and textures!! :)

  2. I love the dog park – it’s always so happy there! :)

    Have a nice weekend – I hope you’re back to 100% tomorrow!

  3. I love running my dog! Made another dessert of yours tonight, blackberry peach crisp…it was wonderful! That’s 2 this week because I made the Frozen cookie dough balls on Wednesday. Keep the great recipes coming and hope you’re up to par in the morning.

  4. Maggie is a total cutie! I love it when dogs get so worn out that they totally crash. It’s the best! Olive loves being outside as well, but not when it’s raining. She’s a bit of a Miss Priss when it comes to getting rained on. Like her mama. :)

I hope you are feeling better in the AM lady.

  5. Maggie’s tongue hanging out made me laugh. It looks like she is just really enjoying herself.

  6. i could use a plateful of ur leftovers right about now!!! <3

    HAPPY FRIDAY LOVE!

  7. I want to try those larabars too but I feel like I’d probably eat 2 in one sitting. They’re so damn small!!

Your dog is too cute. I love the pic of her laying in the grass, like she’s all pooped out. Haha.

  8. Try freezing the Larabars! They taste less like dates and more “authentic” and true to their flavor that way :D I think I’ll be trying PB choc cookie next. Can’t decide really…

  9. Glad you are feeling better! Hope you’ll be back to normal in the morning…

    Great photos of Maggie! :)

    Have a great weekend!

  10. Oo lucky you–I’ve still been searching for those bars!!

  11. Beautiful pictures Brandi! Maggie is so precious. I want to move out of our apartment asap so I can get a cute puppy like her.
