Dessert Decisions

You guys have some great breakfast choices! But reading all those comments just made me hungry :)

Nick and I had lunch out today with a friend at one of our favorite places, Our Daily Bread. I had their soup of the day – tomato basil – along with some whole grain bread and their tomato, artichoke, and bean salad. It was delicious and perfect for today. It was raining during lunch, so soup seemed like the best option.

After working away this afternoon, I wanted something easy for dinner.

I cooked some local zucchini, yellow squash, onion, garlic, and corn with olive oil, salt, pepper, cumin, oregano, and chili powder and added that to some free range chicken along with diced local tomato and lots of cilantro.

We had it over some brown rice and barley. The cilantro is key in this! But we love fresh cilantro, so I’ll eat it on just about anything.

I think it just started storming here, I’m already in my pajamas and just trying to decide IF I want dessert…and what I want.

Local ice cream? Cashew Creamery? Banana soft serve? Cereal? Yogurt and fruit? Hot chocolate?

Decisions, decisions…

Also, I need to go wash my hands again. I was working on a new trial recipe earlier and I still have marshmallow fluff on my fingers. If the recipe idea works out, there will be a recipe soon!

  2. I love that you guys have a local little lunch spot! Toly and I need one of these. Well, I guess there are a few, but Our Daily Bread just sounds so much better than any cafes around here.

Mmm, I always avert to cereal when I can’t decide on a bedtime snack. It never fails me. In fact, I’m eating some right now and it’s delicious! :)
