The Hunger

After all that hard work in Zumba last night, I woke up starving! Oatmeal was the first thing I thought about :)

I think most of my breakfast choices are filling, but there’s just something about a big bowl of oatmeal, fruit, and nut butter. It isn’t too heavy, but it keeps me satisfied until lunchtime most days, making it a perfect quick + easy breakfast.

Today’s mix!

  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1 cup water
  • pinch salt
  • cinnamon
  • 1/2 nectarine
  • 1/2 cup wineberries (the last of them!) :(
  • 1 Tbsp almond butter

It’s just now lunch time and I’m starting to get hungry – the oatmeal worked!

Let’s just hope my lunch is just as filling.

I brought more of the barley/bean/corn/tomato salad with extra tomato, some leftover green beans, and 1/2 an avocado for some fat.

I do have a snack for this afternoon, but I have a feeling my lunch will be pretty filling thanks to the whole grains, veggies, fiber, and healthy fats.

Plus, any lunch with avocado is good with me :)

Do you ever wake up starving and What are your favorite filling meals – are there certain foods/combinations that never fail to fill you up and keep you satisfied?

I’m always looking for new ideas and recipes!

i’m no a big egg eater, but if i wake up starving they usually sound delicious-lots of protein! i do them with veggies (spinach + whatever else is laying around) and sour cream, cause I’m weird and love sour cream on my eggs

After a long run I’m not hungry but the next day I’m starving. I have a big egg omelet with toast on the side and probably some coffee. Then bigger meals throughout the day.

I love waking up hungry because breakfast is sooo much more satisfying, especially when it’s what you crave. Peanut butter helps my hunger so much.

I do wake up starving sometimes but if I dont have time to eat right away and I have to get ready, then the hunger wears away. I love oatmeal or eggs in the morning.

When I was younger I would always wake up hungry, immediately ready to eat. As I’ve gotten older I really don’t wake up hungry anymore. It takes a good hour or two for my hunger to start to develop. I always try to have a little bit of banana and pb or something along those lines immediately when I wake up though to get my body rollin’.

First of all, I love that you said this: “and 1/2 an avocado for some fat.”

YaY!!! So many people are afraid of fat and prefer fat free stuff that I want to shake them and tell them they need fat! :D

I personally love fat and if you can please provide me fat in the form of cheese, I will be very happy. :)

For lunches I need lots of fiber from produce to help me feel full and content. Smoothies with lunch are a must for me.

The reason I get out of bed in the morning is because I’m hungry. I know the faster I get ready, the faster I’ll get food!

Ohhh yes, I do wake up staving sometimes. I’ve actually been into making eggs lately. Eggs + avocado + whole wheat toast + coffee = a filling and delicious breakfast! And maybe some berries to snack on while while the eggs are cooking :)

I usually don’t wake up very hungry, but the most filling breakfast for me is 0% Fage yogurt (either the 6 oz. container or 8 oz.) + fruit (either strawberries, blueberries, an apple, or a combination) + gluten-free oats or my gluten-free cereal. It keeps me full forever!

This morning I woke up hungrier than usual..I think my metabolisms finally reacting to all the weight lifting. And oatmeal’s the only thing that gets me going in the morning! Other than that, I go for high protein stuff balanced with carbs for energy. My go to’s a big ole’ bowl of cereal with extra milk- never fails. ;)

Yum! I’m with you. If an avocado is included in my lunch plans, I’m a happy camper.

I love eggs in the morning. They always satisfy me.

Oatmeal has to be the most filling breakfast for my body. Whole wheat pancakes + my 30 second peanut butter sauce always gets me full quickly too.
