Check out how much liquid drained out of my homemade yogurt today!
Yup – 4 cups of liquid. I couldn’t believe it! But the leftover yogurt is so thick and creamy. I can’t wait to have some!
I’m working on a post about homemade yogurt, so you’ll see it soon!
After finishing work today, I jumped in the shower to rinse off after being in the creek at lunch. I still can’t believe we got to go do that today – it definitely made my day! Too bad I can’t always have a 2 hour lunch break…that’s one thing I loved when we were in Spain earlier this year: long lunch breaks followed by a siesta.
Oh well – every now and then is still fun.
Dinner was awesome taco salad leftovers!
I had the same plate as last night:
- black beans
- lean ground beef
- lettuce
- tomato
- avocado / radish salad
- red onion
- scallion
- cilantro
- corn
Just as good tonight :)
And now I’m ready to relax with Nick and Maggie for the evening. We have a fun night ahead!

Salad is inspiring me for my dinner tonight. I have leftovers from chicken tacos from last night :)
On my agenda, big brother and puppy!
I have always wanted to make my own yogurt! I hear its so simple.
Sounds like you had a great day. You definitely deserved a wonderful day!
Mmm, taco salad. I haven’t had it in way too long. yay for burn notice :)
I CANNOT wait for the homemade yogurt recipe! Your dinner looks fabulous, as always!
Oooh can’t wait to hear about the yogurt adventures!
My goodness. I can’t remember the last time I had a taco salad..8 years maybe?! Time to end this streak!
That yogurt looks so thick and creamy – the perfect combination! YUM!
I second all the comments about your yogurt journey. I’ve always been interested in making my own yogurt but it’s very intimidating.
Have a good thursday night and happy almost weekend!!
I’ve never even thought about making my own yogurt. I hope its tasty :)
Good job with the yogurt! A lot of people out here in Mozambique make it (okay, by “a lot of people” I mean “some of the expats who miss yogurt”) but for some reason it makes me REALLY nervous! Even though I have tasted it and it is GOOD… I need to get over it and try it while I have the chance, lord knows when I move back to the States I will be too lazy :)
