White Collar starts in 20 minutes!!! :) I hope you’ll be watching!
My lunch today was delicious. I love when meals taste even better as leftovers.
Our lunch from Sunday made the perfect easy meal for me to bring to work today.
I made a mix of whole wheat pasta, beans, tomatoes, and broccoli (along with some garlic, parsley, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper) and brought that along with some fruit.
Cantaloupe + local wineberries! I think wineberries may be my new favorite fruit. The taste a little like raspberries, but they’re not as tart and they have a much deeper flavor. I can’t wait to eat more! And I love having berries with cantaloupe – it’s a good mix since the melon is so subtle.
Afternoon snack was some celery and the leftover black bean hummus from this weekend.
As the day was coming to an end, some huge thunderstorms hit and it was pouring down rain. We definitely need it, but I was happy that it slowed down just a bit while I was getting to the car after work ;)
I got home to find Nick working on sanding our bedroom mirror so he can paint it, so I let Maggie out, gave her some dinner, and started heating up our meal.
We had enough of everything to have great leftovers tonight!
Local steak with grilled peppers and onions. Crash hot potatoes. Roasted broccoli.
Nick and I sat on the couch and read our books for a little over an hour (which was the best way to end a work day) and we just got back from a little trip to Dairy Queen.
Yup.
I’m eating a small Reese’s Blizzard as I type.
And it is delicious.
As soon as White Collar is over, I’ve got to get back to my book! I’m almost done!!

Ooooohh, wineberries?? Those sound fantastic, as raspberries are sometimes too tart for me. I’ll have to be on the lookout!
Ahh sad day- the storm blew my satellite out!! Guess I’ll have to catch a rerun;)
I’ve never even heard of a wineberry, but now I want to try them!

I miss you too! I thought of you at DQ last night :)
My dad is growing wineberries in his garden! My mom always calls them “Chinaberries” and we can’t remember why, haha. They are definitely delicious.
Yes! That was just the kind of blizzard I was thinking when I read the title of your post :)
I loove rasberries + canteloupe together. So pretty (not to mention delicious)!
Your lunch looks so yummy and fresh! I’m totally more jealous of your blizzard though – where’s the pic of that bad boy?!

Had your blog bookmarked but didn’t get down to reading it until tonight. I love the oatmeal pancake that you made and going to have it for breakfast tomorrow! I’m going to even make a stop at my grocery store to get some Greek yogurt to put on top. Thanks for the recipe, loving this blog!
I’m intrigued by the wineberries and now I want to try some!!
That pasta looks soo good!!! And I have never heard of or tried wineberries but it seems like I would love them… the tartness in raspberries bugs me sometimes!
Btw thanks for visiting my blog!! It means a lot :D
Your fruit looks so amazing that I just raided my fridge for some fresh strawberries! :) Where did you find wineberries? Do they taste like raspberries? I love new fruit finds!
I found them at the farmer’s market this weekend. One of the stands was selling them as “wild wineberries”.
wineberries?! i’ve never heard of those but they look DIVINE!!!
Sounds like you had a GREAT day!! I wish that I could have had a Reese’s Blizzard, but I was working and doing homework. No time to do anything but WORK today!! I dont think that was fair because it was my birthday and I didnt get to celebrate!! :(
