Want to see two of my new favorite kitchen gadgets?
I love this stovetop espresso maker!
And, as a CSN Preferred Blogger, I was able to review this awesome Nespresso frother!
I love a good latte. I love the mix of perfectly brewed espresso, steamed milk, and that little bit of froth.
But I do not enjoy the $3-4 per latte that I end up spending at coffeehouses.
I’ve been wanting an espresso maker for home, but we’re seriously lacking in counter space, so I knew I could never actually have one of the big, bulky machines.
The stovetop espresso maker was the perfect solution. I had just enough space in one of our cabinets to store it when it’s not being used, and I also moved a few things around to fit this frother ;)
Just check out that foam!
I don’t have the time to make a latte at home every morning, but I love having the option now.
Plus, it’s just one more way I can make a new thing at home, save some money, and know exactly what I’m getting.
And today, a big cup of coffee was definitely needed. It’s been a crazy morning!
Nick and I got up and went running (woohoo!), came home, showered, made breakfast, and got ready for work. But when I sat down to start working, my computer didn’t load right, so I had to restore it/back it up and wait for it to be ready. Oh well – everything is working now :)
This morning, I made myself a frothy coffee – just regular coffee made in our syphon with some steamed/frothed milk.
The best part about this frother? You can have it froth and heat your milk or just froth it/whisk it and keep it cold! I am in love.
Even though it’s sweltering today, I wanted some hot coffee and a big oatmeal pancake.
The oatmeal pancake was the normal recipe:
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/2 cup egg whites
- pinch salt
- cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
Cook it in a skillet, flip once, eat!
This morning, I topped it with some White Chocolate Wonderful and diced local peach.
Sweet, salty, melty. Yum.
The perfect post-run breakfast!

I don’t even like coffee, but that froth looks incredible!
Beautiful froth! And those peaches look so refreshing!
I’ve been looking into stove top espresso makers. Thanks for the post!
I’m not a big coffee person beyong loving the smell..but this looks amazing!! And nothing wrong with hot meals on hot days :) Especially in the case of pancakes
Oh how this looks like! A perfect breakfast indeed. Too bad I have to go off coffee for a while, so I could sleep during the night :/
Ooo I love that you can heat and froth at the same time! I use an old jar and then put it in the microwave hahaaa
Wow, that looks awesome! Seriously better than a latte you’d get in a coffee shop! Perfect froth too :)
So jealous of your frothy coffee! I actually just got a job at a cafe so now I can make my own lattes for free!! :-)
I’m hosting an amazing grass giveaway on my blog if you’re interested: http://roseyrebecca.com/2010/07/07/amazing-grass-giveaway/
I need to get on the oatmeal pancake train…:)
When I used to work in a coffee shop, I always LOVED having steamed milk, but never could get behind the froth (I always tell them to hold the froth when I buy a latte at a shop, because I don’t like paying for air)…but your beautiful results make me tempted to try this at home….
I want that frother!! That would be awesome for an iced coffee. We rarely drink a whole pot of coffee in the morning so I usually have an iced coffee when I get home.
Now you can enjoy an after dinner espresso like the Europeans!
I totally would, but I would never get to sleep!
Wow, that looks better than Sbucks! :)
And I love fresh peaches with White Chocolate Wonderful. They go so well together! ;)
This looks like the perfect breakfast, from that delicious chopped peach on the pancake, to the perfectly frothed milk. Jealous! And I agree – I love having a gadget that reduces the need to buy something crazy over-priced…like iced coffee!
I agree! :) And your coffee always looks perfect.
