Repeating for Ease

Well, thankfully, today has been a bit less chaotic! Work has been pretty normal all morning – still busy, for sure – but no big crises or anything to speak of.

I went in and worked in the office this morning and just got home to work through the afternoon so we can leave right after I’m done.

Lunch needed to be fast + easy!

To help clear out the fridge, I ended up having the same lunch as yesterday.

The last of the Israeli couscous with white beans and rainbow chard, plus some tomatoes.

And some of the last of our cherries!

Just as good as yesterday, and I didn’t have to waste any food!

Back to work in 3, 2,…

Are there some foods that you won’t eat if they’re leftovers?

I admit it. Sometimes reheating fish dishes creeps me out.

  1. I don’t like to re-heat eggs often. Not sure why, but it just doesn’t give me a good feeling… I guess we all have our quirks, huh? :)

  2. I still am really loving that lunch combo of yours…sounds delicious. I don’t like to eat leftover avocado dishes…just can’t get over the browning!

  3. I totally agree with you. Fish dishes get too much of a fishy smell the day after (no pun intended!).

  4. I’m really not a fan of very many left overs. I’ll do soup and pizza, but otherwise I try to make just enough for the husband and myself.

  5. I love leftovers but I will never reheat anything fried or slightly fried, eggs or cream sauces. Just kind of bugs me out!

  6. I never thought about that but reheating things is kinda weird!

Sooo many cherries in the blog world. I want some!!

  7. I am a BIG fan of leftovers, but you will never find me making leftovers out of food that I had at a restaurant!!

  8. French fries. I hate leftover french fries. So soggy, and completely inedible.

  9. fish does really creep me out. I also really prefer fresh casseroles. They lose their magic after a while.

  10. Leftovers can be a godsend sometimes! Gotta love how easy they are:)

  11. Microwaved chicken — cannot eat it. Really creeps me out.

  12. I love leftovers, my husband hates them. The only leftover he’ll eat is cold meatloaf, which kinda makes me want to throw up in my mouth a little bit!

  13. Oh, that looks like the love child of couscous and tabbouleh!

I can’t do salad if it’s a leftover, is that strange? Even without dressing on the top, the leaves get wilty or something and it freaks me out!

  14. I reheat rish, but reluctantly. I HATE when it’s cold, gray, and smells super fishy!

  15. I hate reheating French Fries. Is that even possible?

  16. i will eat anything leftover. seriously – even limp soggy salad. which i just did, actually!

  17. I agree with you on the fish. I can’t do fish leftovers. I also hate leftover rice (it gets too dry) and leftover pasta (too mushy!)

  18. Ya, I wouldn’t eat leftover fish either. I tend to pitch plain rice rather than save it just because it is so cheap and seems like it wouldn’t save well.

  19. I don’t like fish leftover either!!! I get free food at work when we have trainings, and we always have to choose between chicken or fish. I love variety, but I ALWAYS get the chicken because there is tons of food leftover and the fish is RANK the next day. Ew.

  20. I have been enjoying cherries lately!

I will not eat reheated/leftover french fries. bleh.

  21. lately it seems everyone has been either cleaning out their fridge or their pantry! especially beans and grains.. i always have too many hanging around. looks great-nice big healthy lunch :)

  22. I don’t think there’s any dish that I won’t reheat. I’m trying to have my kids eat more beans this summer. Just bought a bag of white and pinto beans.

  23. Your lunch look wonderful! I’m not big on reheating fish unless it’s been breaded and I can heat it up in the toaster over so it’s still crispy, though the smell of second day fish can be alarming!

  24. So I thought I would rub this in.. I went to eat at a new restaraunt in Hampton last night and guess what it’s called? Frank Beamer’s!!! I know you’d love it!!!

  25. I completely agree with you, fish is never good as leftovers. As much as I hate to say it, I am not a big fan of leftovers. I always make my husband eat them :) I swear he could eat the same thing every day for weeks on end and still be content. Hope you had a good weekend!
