It definitely feels like spring today. The sun is shining, our flowers are blooming, and it’s not sweltering outside.
Nick went to the range this morning, so we had a quick breakfast before he left.
Can you believe that we were both up by 6:40 this morning? There’s no hope sleeping in now that we have Maggie.
We both had some strawberries, kiwi, and pineapple, along with some scrambled eggs and canadian bacon.
While Nick was gone, Maggie and I cuddled and watched some One Tree Hill :) It was awesome! Super lazy and fun to just be cuddling in my pajamas.
Nick got back home around 10 and we had coffee + second breakfasts!
I toasted a slice of Nature’s Pride whole wheat bread and used some of my new nut butter.
Uh – yum! This Just 4 Nuts Butter from Better Than Roasted is my Favorite new nut butter, hands down. I love the flavor of this – it’s a blend of almonds, cashews, pecans, and walnuts, and is totally delicious! It’s not completely smooth, but it tastes so creamy.
I spread about a tablespoon on the bread, added some cinnamon + banana and made a little sandwich before heading out to get groceries.
I like having second breakfasts – it reminded me of our time in Spain.
Since Nick was back with Maggie, I drove out to town to get groceries. And I’m proud of myself for today – I got all the stuff we needed, a few extra fun items to try, AND I stayed under budget!
By the time I got home, it was 2 pm and I was hangry!
I heated up the last of the ham/veggie/lemon pasta from the other night and some extra corn, green beans, and broccoli.
Leftovers are always a lifesaver for us, but they’re especially helpful on weekends when we’re both busy and don’t just want sandwiches.
Guess what I found on tv?!?!!!
Uh oh. My college football craziness is starting already :) The VT spring game is this month and I’m SO excited about it!!!!
I’ve got more cuddling to do and some laundry to work on – we’re trying a fun new item with dinner! Can’t wait.

I love second breakfast!! I lived in Spain for six months in college and definitely had my fair share of second breakfasts (usually churros con chocolate!). Enjoy your weekend!
