Sweet Split + Chef Tour News

Time for another banana split!

IMG_8684

I planned this entire breakfast last night ;) I love when I’m so excited about breakfast that I plan it out before I’ve even finished my dinner.

We have a bunch of bananas that aren’t perfectly ripe yet, but they work great for banana splits. I can’t use super ripe bananas for this because they just fall apart!

And regardless…I knew I had to try this White Chocolate pb with banana and strawberries.

While I prepped my fruit, I cooked some simple oatmeal:

  • 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1 cup water, pinch salt
  • cinnamon

Once the oatmeal was ready, I spooned it into the split banana and added my toppings.

Today, we have:

  • fresh strawberries
  • White Chocolate Wonderful peanut butter
  • a few dark chocolate chips to finish the “sundae”

See why I love breakfast? I have more fun putting together breakfasts than any other meal.

Celebrity Chef Tour News:

Remember that fantastic meal Nick and I had two weekends ago? (Recap here)

Well, that was just the first stop on their tour!

Make sure to check their calendar to see if it’s coming to a city near you – I know that they still have tickets available for the upcoming events in New York, so if you’re close, go for it! It will be a meal you’ll never forget. I’m actually sad they’re not going anywhere else in Virginia…I would totally travel for another meal like that ;)

What’s the best meal you’ve ever had?

  1. Amazing breakfast! You are so like me…sometimes I plan the night before and can’t wait for what I’ve created for the morning. No better way to start the AM.

  2. Ahh that breakfast looks insanely amazing! Need to try the banana split!

  3. Best meal ever? That’s a tough one! Once we had the chef’s tasting at Emeril’s restaurant in New Orleans and he cooked for us! (this was about 8 yrs ago)….so awesome!

  4. Wow, Brandi, that breakfast looks beautiful!!! And I’m sure it tasted amazing! I’ve probably told you this before, but you are SO creative! What a great gift you have. :)

  5. OMG that is one of the best looking breakfasts I’ve ever seen!

  6. theres nothing better than a banana exploding with oatmeal!! YUM thislook so good!!!

  7. haha…i plan my breakfast the night before ALL THE TIME. in fact, i get a little sad when breakfast is over because it is by far my fave meal of the day :)

    • me too! Always sad when lunch rolls around and it’s not nearly as exciting as my breakfast :)

  8. That breakfast is beautiful, Brandi. Isn’t it wonderful when things are beautiful and good for you?

  9. That looks fantastic Brandi. I’ll have to steal that idea sometime. :-) I’m not sure I can easily pick the best meal I’ve ever had. I’ve had a lot of good ones and they were all wonderful in different ways, because sometimes the company or occasion elevates the food and then sometimes it’s just about what’s on the plate.

  10. amazing breakfast, but i think i’m too excited that the tour is coming to boston!! did you ask for two, or did they provide it automatically?

  11. I love to plan breakfasts. I am actually going to make a big pot of steelcut oats in my crockpot for breakfasts next week.

The best meal I ever had was one cooked by my host father in spain. Fresh caught fish in some spices I’d never had, mushrooms in a wine sauce and veggies to make my mouth water with yellow rice.

  12. I need to do that! I have some not quite ripe naners too!

  13. ah i love your oatmeal split! so clever :)

  14. You’re so creative! I have never seen an oatmeal banana split – yummers!
