Janetha, you’re a genius :)

I’ve been seeing this breakfast all over the place lately, and I finally bought some more greek yogurt this past weekend just so I could try it.

My first bowl of yoatgurt was pretty simple, but delicious!

  • 1/2 cup oats, 1 cup water, pinch salt, cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup or so greek yogurt
  • 1/2 banana, sliced
  • 1 Tbsp *new* almond butter!

I love bananas with greek yogurt, and I love them in oatmeal. This was the perfect mix! I really liked being able to have just cold bites with the yogurt/banana or hot bites with oatmeal – plus, you can mix it all together and it’s even better ;)

My new almond butter is one I’m really excited about. On our way from my parents’ to Nick’s parents’ this weekend, we stopped at the Trader Joe’s in Newport News :)

We were out of Kona coffee anyway, but I got a lot of new stuff, including this almond butter with roasted flaxseeds. It’s so crunchy from the almonds + flaxseeds, and I’ve decided that I like salted almond butter the best. Not too salty, but just a pinch makes a world of difference.

And  did you notice the natural light in these pictures? Spring is coming!!! It’s getting lighter just a little earlier in the morning and that makes me happy.

Have you tried yoatgurt yet? What are you waiting for?!?

  1. AH they make that in almond butter?! The peanut butter version is hands down my favorite PB.

  2. I have used yogurt as a frosting on oatmeal, but the idea of a full portion kind of weirds me out–don’t know why.
I love TJ’s almond butter but crunchy flax seeds always make me go blech. I wish they were ground :-( Then it’d be such a hit with me! Maybe I should throw it in the food proc?

  3. I just can’t seem to jump on the yoats bandwagon – I find them a bit baby food and a bit blah to be honest. Which is weird because they contain all my favourite foods in the world! I’ll stick to my classic hot oats with almond milk for now!

    (Yours do look beautiful though!!)

  4. If I could eat yogurt, I would!

  5. ooh, i haven’t tried this mix, but i’ll have to give it a go! i did pick up some of that almond butter (2 jars, actually, b/c i was so excited) and can’t wait to dig in :)

  6. I still don’t get it, what is yoatgurt???? Is it just overnight oats with yogurt stirred in?

    • not overnight oats – HOT oatmeal paired with COLD yogurt. I wasn’t sure how I would like it, but it was tasty! The best of both worlds when I don’t want a totally cold breakfast.

  7. I love Yoagurt!!!! It’s phenomenal. Your’s looks divine with the AB and banana. I really want to try that TJ’s AB. gonna have to stop by and grab some at some point. I love adding a little protein powder to the oats after they cook. Great staying power!

  8. hmmmm i haven’t tried yoatgurt. so the oats are hot? not sure how my teeth would like the hot/cold combo haha

  9. its SO good!! I am having some later for a snack! I brought all the goods to eat it with me at work YAY can’t wait I may have it a bit early LOL

  11. That’s my absolute favorite almond butter at the moment! We’ve gone through a jar in about 10 days, which is super fast, considering someone else in our house usually doesnt like almond butter!

  12. I’m obsessed with yoatgurt! Your combo looks great!
