Monday Musings

by admin on December 7, 2009

Last night, Nick and I both decided that we needed another day off…I think all weekends should be 3 days instead of 2.

I mean, we need one day to do fun stuff, one day to get things done (laundry, cleaning, etc) and then one day to actually relax, right?

Even though we both agreed, it didn’t change the fact that it is still Monday morning and work starts in 25 minutes.

The only things that make most Mondays bearable for me?

  • a good breakfast
  • coffee
  • our local morning radio show
  • How I Met Your Mother

I actually did not want oatmeal this morning – I was so hot in the house a few minutes ago and couldn’t even think of having a hot breakfast, but I didn’t have anything to eat for a cold meal!

So, I just waited a few minutes and made it anyways. Now I’m glad I did  :)

  • 1/2 cup oats, 1 cup water, pinch salt
  • 1/2 banana, sliced
  • 1.5 Tbsp crunchy pb
  • cinnamon!

Basic bowl of oats, but so good. It’s nice to have a simple breakfast every now and then.

Off to eat, dry my hair, and get to work!

What are your favorite things about Mondays?

I don’t like anything about Monday :( because it means I have to start working in Pjs again!

Oh I wish it were a 3 day weekend! I think my favorite thing is that it’s a fresh start – you don’t know what the week will hold!

Sign me up for the three day weekend! Hmm…Mondays. I suppose I look forward to the prime time programming on Food Network–Unwrapped and Diners, Drive Ins and Dives! Kind of lame, but even if they’re reruns, it’s a great way to wind down the day.

I agree on the weekend thing. We definitely need more than 2 days.

This bowl looks sooo good!! YUM!!
I am looking forward to HIMYM too, but I can’t watch it until Tuesday Evening – hence the time difference!
But Mondays are usually very quiet around here (in the office) so I like that, and love to catch up with all the blogs!! And the last few Mondays I also did look forward to my therapy sessions… Lot to work through but every Monday a step closer to the finish line!! :D
Have a wonderful day hun!! Hug n.

HIMYM is the best thing about Monday! I agree that weekends should be three days – I need a day to recuperate!

I am in 100% agreement about the 3 day weekend! My boy gets a three dayer EVERY weekend and it makes me mad (i.e. jealous). I took care of sooo much house stuff yesterday but where was the relaxing with my feet up part?!

Delicious looking oatmeal lady!

I had a hard time getting out of bed this morning too… I snoozed 3 times before actually getting out bed and I am NOT a snoozer. My favorite part of Mondays is getting a letter from my pen-pal. She is in 5th grade and has a lot to say and I look forward to reading her long letters :)

Monday nights are my favorite thing about Mondays…I like them to be over!

Ah, Mondays. The thing I like about Mondays is that at work, we are closed so there are only three people here and I can be especially productive. Today, I am actually here alone and have wiped out a ton already.

Then, I usually go to yoga after work on Mondays but this week, I am meeting a friend for coffee.

Mondays are not my favorite day.

HOUSE and the gym make it better after a long day.

Im so with you on the three day weekend thing. Its true! You definently need one day for errands another day of going out and one day just to hit the couch and relax! I try to make my Mondays a bit better though. I use it as my rest day from the gym so I can sleep in a bit longer and I love a big hot bowl of oatmeal and some good coffee to wake me up.

This is a hard question because I’m usually negative about Monday….but I guess I would say that the best thing about Monday is that it’s nice to see my work buddies.

I actually don’t mind Mondays that much. It gets my butt back into gear after being lazy on the weekend.

seriously, who ever implemented the “5 day work week/2 day weekend” rule? I’d like to give them a piece of my mind.
