Jolted Awake

by admin on November 30, 2009

Well, it seems I’m back to my normal routine now that I’m home.

I didn’t get up with my alarm. I turned it off, snuggled back in bed with Nick, and finally got up when his alarm went off later this morning. Oops!

I guess I was catching up on all the sleep I needed after this last holiday + weekend.

The only good thing is that my work outfit today is jeans, a tshirt, and my glasses, so I’m not rushing to get ready to leave the house.

And I tried my new Trader Joe’s Trail mix this morning!

It has chocolate covered espresso beans, pecans, almonds, craisins, and golden raisins.

I just made my normal oatmeal base today:

  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1 cup water
  • pinch salt
  • 1/2 banana, sliced

After the oatmeal was cooked, I stirred in cinnamon and some of the trail mix, saving the chocolate espresso beans for the top. :)

Let’s hope these + some coffee will wake me up! I’m going to have a busy day today with work.

How was your holiday / weekend? What was your favorite thing about this weekend?

I have that trail mix, too! I hardly ever eat trail mix though so it’s gotten like no action over the past 5 months, haha

Love the TJ’s Trail Mixes! I had a great weekend, my favorite part might have been the pecan pie ;-)

It’s nice to sleep in, isn’t it?

We had our Grey cup game….the pinnacle game of the CFL. I’ll describe it for you since I know you’re a football kinda girl…. Saskatchewan was winning the whole game until in the dying seconds of the game they were only up by 2 points. Montreal kicked a field goal for 3 points. Montreal missed, and Saskatchewan thought they won the Grey Cup! But Saskatchewan drew a penalty for too many men on the field on that last play and Montreal kicked again and they got it the 2nd time and Montreal won the Grey Cup! In the dying seconds! WHAT A GAME!

Hey Brandimuffin!!! Great looking breakfast (again–as usual!!) and I’m going up to Raleigh this Sunday, so I’ll have to stop by TJ’s and look for that trail mix! :) Hope you have a great day!

your oatmeal looks yummy! Maybe I will make that for me today, lol. My fav thing was just going home (first time since august) and seeing my fam and meeting my moms new puppy Roxie! OF course introducing the bf to the entire family was nothing exciting for me, but prob a little overwhelming for him!! lol

The last time I had chocolate covered coffee beans they were from Costa Rica when a friend studied there. THey were definitely a jolt.

I loved spending Thanksgiving day with just me and Hunni. SO relaxing. But even though the weekend was stressful there were so many high points that I’ll quickly forget the lows and remember it as a great holiday. :-)

My favorite thing about this weekend….besides the yummy food? :-) Definitely getting in lots of family time. Even my family that lives close by…we don’t see each other enough! (For me, they might say differently!)

My favorite thing? Well, everything was amazing. I had some rest, and lovely time spent with my Love. Really recuperating weekend.

Would you recommend that trail mix!? I saw it when I was shopping at Trader Joe’s this week (while home), and ALMOST bought it but decided on sticking with the organic trek mix (sunflower seeds, dried apples, almonds, chocolate chips…) that my mom had bought me a few days before! It sounds DELICIOUS though. I love anything coffee-flavored!
