Dreary Day

I enjoyed hearing who you liked better between N’SYNC and BSB, although I was reminded of Hanson!

Oh, my little sister and I were so obsessed with them! I remember we had an entire binder just filled with pictures we had torn out of magazines and a concert video tape that we used to watch, over and over.

The funny thing is…I don’t listen to their normal cds anymore, but their Christmas cd they put out is one of my family’s favorites! My little sister got a new copy of it for my mom just a few years ago.

I’ve been busy this morning! Work is making the day tick by and I was more than ready for lunch.

I made another pear + brie + blue cheese dijon mustard sandwich today.

I wish I always had these ingredients – the mix of the brie and that tangy dijon and sweet pear is so good between the crispy bread!

Plus a salad on the side with some romaine,  broccoli, the rest of the pear half, some craisins and walnuts and a dressing made up of 1 tsp olive oil, 1/2 tsp blue cheese dijon mustard and 1/2 tsp blackberry pear balsamic vinegar (both from Made in Napa Valley!).

Today is so dreary! It’s been raining most of the morning and is just dull and gray outside.

I tried to help the gray mood by trying some new tea –

I really liked it, but I have no idea what flavor it is. It doesn’t say on the bags, and I won it in a blog giveaway. It’s kind of sweet + licoricy, and I loved it!

  1. Don’t judge me, but when my friends and I were younger and AOL was new, we’d go into NSYNC chatrooms and type “BSB is better.” Yeah.

    That sandwich is KILLER.

Best concert (other than Ari’s, of course!) was probably either Radiohead, U2 or the Hold Steady.

  2. Nsync is still the best concert I’ve ever went to! I went to 10 of them actually…yes..very obsessed! I won a contest from Seventeen magazine and go to go backstage and be on TRL! Best day ever!

  3. Oh I agree! These ingredients make the very best sammie. Here is a tip, if you don’t have brie on hand or can’t afford to buy it every week like me, try subbing Laughing Cow Garlic and Herb. It tasts just as wonderful and is a lot cheaper.

    Enjoy your day!

  4. Oh yeah – N’SYNC Christmas all the way!!!! It is also a dreary day here in Pittsburgh. I think I’d rather have snow.

  5. Its totally rainy and icky here in NC.. BLAH. I agree with Jessica.. at least snow would be prettier.

Best concert would have to be U2.. kinda developed my love (obsession) for Bono then! :)

I was a BSB girl.. i grew up truly believing I would marry Brian Litrell. :)

  6. haha my first concert was Hanson!!! My family also loves the Christmas album.

  7. ugh it is SO dreary here! perfect day for tea :)

best concert was most definitely dmb this summer. it was outside and they played for almost 3 hours. totally worth the moolah

  8. My first concert was New Kids on the Block :) It was so awesome that I threw up and had to go the nurses station.

  9. oh my goodness that pear and cheese sandwich looks divine! ive never mixed cheese+fruit together..hmm

the BEST concert ive ever been to is a tie between dave matthews and keith urban

the first concert i went to was NYSNC.. i was so upsessed with lance bass..then i found out he was gay

  10. I am pretty sure that my first concert was a Beach Boys and Chicago reunion show and it was terrible. It didn’t help that I was probably 12 or 13 and had no clue what any of their songs were.

The BEST concert ever was Garth Brooks when he came back to do 10 shows a couple years ago in KC. I was about 100 foot from the stage and only paid $25 for my ticket. Best money I EVER spent!!!

  11. That sandwich sounds amazing!! As soon as my Thanksgiving Challenge is done I’m planning on a grilled cheese with – pear, brie, blue cheese, spinach, and honey!

  12. My first concert was Amy Grant. I LOVED her! Still do. :-)

Hmmm…best concert? That is tough! Maybe Maroon 5? Adam Levine just has so much energy and, let’s face it, he’s not too bad on the eyes!

  13. I was never really into NSYNC – but the best Christmas album I own is … The Jackson 5. Best concerts are always Summerstage in NY – free and good acts. Nothing better than listening to a young Michael’s high pitched voice singing I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus. (and my parents have this on old school vinyl LP)!

  14. It’s a dreary day here, too. I’m debating ever going outside for the rest of today at all.
I think the first(and only) concert I can recall is Gavin DeGraw way before he was even famous

  15. You with these good questions! Lol!

Well I haven’t been to many concerts, but my first was Billy Joel and Elton John with my mom when I was like 8 or 9. The best one I’ve probably been to was Maroon 5. They were amazing in concert. I hadn’t even liked them all that much, and then I saw them live and I was obsessed :)

  16. ohhhh i am in love with that sammie combo! and i didn’t get to voice my opinion this morning, but i am NSYNC all the way. all hail justin timberlake!

  17. I love the combo of sweet and tangy like that sanwich. I used to think it wouldn’t work but I’ve gotten more adventurous as I’ve gotten older.

My favorite concert every was Newsboys and DC Talk. I’ve never actually been to a secular concert before. But my first concert was FFH at a church before they got popular. I loved the intimate setting and all the accapella they did.

  18. Blah, dreary day here as well! That broccoli combo sounds fantastic!

N’SYNC used to put on amazing concerts – so theatrical. However, best concert I’ve gone to is hands down Maroon 5. I could stare at Adam Levine singing (to me) any day!

Before I forget – HAPPY HIMYM DAY!!

  19. My first concert was New Kids on the Block. Gotta love those boy bands when you are in middle school! LOL.

My favorite concert of all time is hard to say. I’ve been to so many! It’s probably a four-way tie between one of the numerous Ryan Adams concerts I’ve been to, this amazing Josh Ritter solo show I saw a few years ago, Belle & Sebastian at the Hollywood Bowl with the Hollywood Bowl orchestra backing them up, and The Raconteurs at ACL a few years ago. They pretty much blew my face off. It was awesome.

    I love music!

  20. That sandwich definitely sounds like a winner.

    Best concert: Flaming Lips
    First: DC Talk

  21. My first concert was the Spice Girls! I was 8 or 9 years old and thought I was SO cool, haha.

My favorite concerts were Aerosmith (twice) and Nickelback (also twice). They’re 2 of my favorite bands and their shows are always so much fun.

  22. I have been listening to N’SYNCs christmas album since september – I can’t help myself! ;)

I was a total 98 degrees chick, Nick Lachey made me melt!

  23. That sandwich sounds just perfect!

    Best concert – Bruce Springsteen

First concert – Third Eye Blind and Outkast (odd combination)

  24. My first concert was the Bangles! The best, probably Bruce Springsteen. Love your sandwich combo, yummers!

  25. My first concert? Phil Collins…now I feel old :-)

  26. Your dream cracks me up. Too funny that I was in it!!! I was definitely into N’Sync. I remember listening to those CDs over and over again. I think it also may have been my first concert. I would say the best I have been to was when I went to see John Legend this year with my boyfriend. He was amazing in person.

  27. best concert i ever went to was the first ani di franco show i saw, over 10 years ago in college. she inspired to become a women’s studies major!

  28. I got some pears just the other day to make just such a sandwich! Yours looks so yummy, I can’t wait to try it out. :-)

I am so lame, I have only been to one concert – Dave Matthews Band. I am not a die-hard fan, but my boyfriend at the time was so I was along for the ride. I always make plans to go to concerts and then something happens at the last minute!

  29. I loveeee yogi tea!!! it is my absolute favorite tea. I would really recommend trying both the Detox and Fasting flavors, but they really are all great.

My fav concert is definitely Bruce Springsteen. That man knows how to put on a show!

  30. haha yes!! BSB and NSync! I was so obsesed. First concert was Avril Lavigne!
