Settled

As soon as I finished blogging last night, my stomach started hurting so bad – I don’t know what it was, but I was miserable last night.

I ended up jumping in the bath to read for a while to see if it would make me feel better.

I did get to use some of my new EO Rose and Chamomile Bubble Bath that I got at the Foodbuzz Festival. The scent alone relaxed me a bit while I was soaking + reading, but it didn’t help my stomach.

I ended up laying on the couch, in the fetal position, until I went to bed. I hate when something like that happens and I have no idea why! I didn’t eat anything strange or out of the ordinary, so I don’t know where it came from.

Thankfully, I woke up feeling better.

I did not wake up on time, but I’m at least walking and feeling more like myself.

I did make time for breakfast!

I had to try pumpkin + POM.

  • 1/2 cup oats, 1 cup water, pinch salt
  • 1/2 small banana, sliced
  • 1/4 heaping cup pumpkin
  • 1 Tbsp almond butter
  • 1/2 Tbsp each pom arils and dark chocolate chips

I love the little crunch of the pom arils with the creamy almond butter. I’m pretty sure you could pomegranate with anything and it would just make it better.

It’s like the perfect fall breakfast!

Do you have any home remedies when you don’t feel well?

  1. Hope you continue to feel better!!

    I used a remedy last night = I slept for 11 hours.

  2. Yikes, I hope you are feeling much better today.

When I have an upset stomach, ginger ale usually does the trick for me.

  3. Ah, hope your tummy feels better today. I am just like you -I curl up in the fetal position and wail that I want my mommy.

  4. Aw, I’m glad you’re feeling better now! :)
I really don’t. When I get stomach aches the remedy is usually a cup of warm tea and cuddling in my bed while watching something, just to get my mind off the pain. ;)
    Have a great day!

  5. Yikes! I hate tummy aches! I find that bananas help my stomache out sometimes.
I’m glad you’re feeling better today!

  6. Aw, glad you are feeling better, that’s no fun! Ginger ale always helps me feel a little better

  7. Hi Brandi,
I’m glad you are feeling better.

Nick should have rubbed your feet, I think there are pressure points in your feet that cure all ails.

If you dont like your feet rubbed, I think you are suppose to drink water, slowly. It breaks up the acid and your also suppose to put a hot heating pad on your stomach.

Hope this helps for next time.

  8. YAA for feeling better. AND can your oat mix be ANY prettier?? NOPE. ;)

  9. Well crying probably doesn’t count (and it’s not really a remedy since it doesn’t really work.. lol)
Last night I was having some stomach issues too. I just went to sleep though and it was a little better this morning.
I like that feet rubbing idea that Tammy put. I’ve never heard of that before but it couldn’t hurt!

  10. I’m glad you’re feeling better this morning. My only home remedy is to make sure I get plenty of sleep. No matter how yuck I’m feeling, if I get enough sleep, I usually feel better the next day.

  11. Glad you are feeling better today! My favorite remedy for when I am not feeling well is sleep.

That is one pretty bowl of oatmeal!

  12. Oh nooo it seems like everyone’s starting to feel under the weather!! :( Hope you’re back to 100% asap! My only advice is tea & crackers.. I know it’s a classic but both usually help settle my stomach enough so that I can get some rest which is the above-all best remedy anyway!

Those just might be the prettiest oats I’ve seen in a while yummm

  13. Sorry about the stomach trouble :( I always drink gingerale when my stomach is upset

  14. Sleep, sleep and more sleep! Plus, baths, orange juice and a walk round the block for some fresh air. Followed by more sleep. Feel 100% soon!

  15. So sorry you got sick after dinner! I wonder why? Sometimes the stomach is a weird thing!

When I’m sick I lay down, grab the heating pad, I might drink a ginger ale or eat a cracker or two. Ginger ale does seem to help a lot.

More often than not, I just curl myself into a ball :( I have an often-sick stomach… it’s sad!

  16. Whenever I am feeling sick, I take a warm bubble bath. I swear it heals almost everything!

Glad you’re feeling better this morning.

  17. sleep, exercise, and coffee always help me when I feel I need to flush out toxins

  18. ginger really does help an upset tummy! and usually for me sleeping a lot so i don’t notice it helps too

  19. Ah so sorry you felt sick! That’s happened to me a few times before. Like, the worst stomachache I’ve ever had that comes out of nowhere. Horrrrible.

    Breakfast looks scrumptious though :)

  20. Hope you’re feeling better! I can’t wait to try that bubble bath!

  21. I’m like you-I hit the bubble bath asap. I hope you feel better!
