How to Throw a Party

1. Have it in San Francisco.

2. Include food bloggers.

Last night was so much fun – I was so, so nervous to meet people but everyone is so nice and talkative. And I’m extremely excited that I got to meet so many people that have blogs I already read AND new people! It’s been great so far, and I know today will be even better.

Foodbuzz is doing an amazing job – it’s been fun to meet them, too! I always get emails from the people at Foodbuzz, but it’s been fun to really put the faces to the names.

Backtracking a bit…

Yesterday afternoon, it stopped raining for a while so Nick and I went and walked around the marketplace. It was still gloomy and overcast, but it was nice to get out and walk for a bit.

We both got some sorbet from Ciao Bella Gelato – yum. I got the pomegranate.

Once we got back, I jumped in the shower before the cocktail party + dinner tonight. I hate that feeling you get from being in a plane all day, plus the walking around in the rain didn’t help my hair one bit.

I met up with Brittany and we headed up the cocktail party. It was actually outside on the roof, but they had these heat lamps that kept everyone warm.

I got one of their drink specials to try – the Autumn Apple. I wish I had taken a picture of the description, because I can’t remember everything that was in it!

I met so many great bloggers last night and it already feels like they’re great friends  :)  It’s awesome to be able to really talk to people in person after only reading their blogs for so long.

I actually didn’t eat much at the street food dinner last night – I was talking to so many people, and my body schedule was still so off after the long day that I just wasn’t horribly hungry.

I did end up and sneak a taco up to Nick in the hotel room  :)  and I tried a cinnamon chocolate cupcake!

And my first ever “raw” food: this cracker with tomato, basil, and avocado. It was good + fresh.

It was not late AT ALL (here) when Brittany and I headed back to the hotel, but it was late for us…I was up for almost 24 hours yesterday.

I slept for 9 hours (!) last night, and feel great this morning after getting some rest.

Nick and I just got back from breakfast downstairs at the hotel. They’re having a breakfast thing for the bloggers, but we were hungry and I wanted to have breakfast with him before I head over for the morning.

We went downstairs and ate in the restaurant here at the hotel, the Americano.

Fancy schmancy, but their breakfast was just what we needed.

IMG_6984

I got a skim latte – totally necessary after the longest day ever yesterday.

IMG_6986

Broccoli + tomato + fresh mozzarella omelet. This was probably the best omelet I’ve ever had. I think the tomatoes were cooked in wine? I don’t know what they did to them, but they were so sweet and flavorful.

and I got the fruit + sourdough toast with my breakfast. I figure I should get in some fruit and veggies while I can  :)

and I’m off! There’s a breakfast at the market thing this morning, then the breakout sessions..and then I’m cooking in 3:30 hours!!!!

*oh yeah! Nick and I just saw Famke Janssen downstairs in the lobby – my first ever REAL celebrity sighting!

Wish me luck!
