Souper Cheesy

Monday, Monday…a new start for the week, but why are you always so busy and filled with work and move so slowly?

The weather is beautiful, and I want to be outside, not in here working, so I’m going to get through this post to take a walking/reading break during lunch  :)

I heated up a cup and a half of that butternut squash soup I opened up last week, added garlic salt, onions, crushed red pepper, pepper and more crushed red pepper on top. I don’t think this is my favorite soup – next time I want butternut squash soup, I’m just going to make my own. This just has a strange aftertaste on its own.

Chessy, happy goldfish helped take away the after taste! And there’s nothing like having your Monday lunch smile back at you.

I also had some spinach that needed to be used, so I heated up a wrap of a flatout, hummus, and spinach.

Hummus should become the new “in” condiment. I think it would be good on almost everything.

Okay – off to eat and get outside for a walk + reading my new book.

  4. I like them if I give them a kick with pepper or red pepper flakes or garlic salt. It makes a nice contridiction.

I think Hummus is the best food ever! I put it on almost everything. In fact I had my favorite wrap from the local coffee shop today that drips in hummus and is yummy and messy to eat.

  5. I actually made an acorn squash bisque a while ago – I don’t know why I thought I wouldn’t like them – love it!

I need to read that book – someone said it was much better than the movie – but then again, aren’t all books better than the movie!

  6. I don’t know that I’ve had a sweet soup before…I must have done. Hmmm.
Your wrap looks unbelievably delicious. Mmm.
Weather is gorgey here too – I need to get outside stat!

  7. I do like sweet soups, but not nearly as much as savory ones. I’ve got butternut squash soup at home and am trying to figure out how to turn into something savory for Fall!

  8. …..dary!!!! Happy HIMYM Day!

Hummus is a universal condiment – sweet potatoes, apples, in wraps, as a dressing. I love that stuff! Your wrap looks so good!

  9. I really want to watch the Julie and Julia movie :) I’m curious!
    That wrap looks goood.

I’m not a fan of sweet soups. I’ve only tried once of twice though so maybe those were bad experiences, I don’t know!

  10. I love sweets soups! Creamy, sweet, comforting.I read the book, it’s pretty good :)

  11. I liked the movie but I want to read Julia’s own book. I think it would be fun!

  12. Can’t wait to hear how that book is. The movie was nice but I don’t think I’d want to read about it again
All the cheese I was worried I wouldn’t eat before it went bad in my fridge is gone and that makes me happy

  13. That wrap looks hummusy and amazing! I took a reading break at lunch today too :)

  14. ohhhh….can’t wait to hear what you think about the book..i wonder how similar it is to the movie?!

and i’m not a fan of sweet soups…i actually hate sweet savory things…acorn squash? bleck. sweet potato? bleck. butternut squash? bleck!

    such a party pooper… know.

  15. I would give anything to be those goldfish right about now .. I could go for a butternut squash soup bath :)

  16. hummus is definatly the best condiement!!

Oooh. in butternut squash soup? I bet that’d be tastey!
I like savory soups.. or spicy chunky ones..

  17. I have a slight addiction to Balsamic Syrup but Hummus comes in at a close second. At first I thought you had cheese and spinach in the wrap, but I love that it’s hummus!

  18. I was actually slightly disappointed by that book–it had too much swearing for my taste. Hope you enjoy it though!
