Thank goodness it’s Wednesday – now just one more day until my family gets here!
Since I hadn’t had oatmeal in a few days, that’s all I could think about. I already planned last night what I was going to have for breakfast this morning.
I actually wanted pumpkin oats today, but I didn’t have time to get all of that stuff out, so I just went with a simple banana + almond bowl.
- 1/2 cup old fashioned oats (I always use these)
- 1 cup water
- pinch salt
- lots of cinnamon
- 1 small banana, sliced
- 1 Tbsp almond butter
- 1 Tbsp raw almonds for some crunch
I like having the raw crunchy almonds with the smooth almond butter – the best of both worlds!
Do you miss your “normal” food if you’ve gone without it for a few days?

I usually miss some foods when I don’t have them for awhile… like fresh-er foods such as fruit.
I am more of a phase girl where I eat a lot of a certain food and then get totally sick of it.
i for sure miss my normal eats all the time if i go to long without it. just this weekend i feel like i didnt have a salad for lunch, so monday afternoon i made sure to whip one up! :) Your oats look amazing, i love the huge blob of peanut butter!

I definitely do! That is the trouble with vacations….I miss my oats the most, I guess. What can I say? Creature of habit. :-)
I LOVE almonds but have never put them in my oats! I’m going to try this, for sure.
YES!! Whenever I return home from a work event or vacation, I can’t wait to get back into my usual eats. I miss all of the fresh veggies, hummus, etc.
Hey girly YES I do definitely miss my normal eats if I’ve been without them for a few days – same thing with a work out too. A day or two away from my usual habits always gets me pumped to get back to my routine!

i always miss the normal stuff when i don’t have it! umm your tumbling river of almond butter looks toooo good. literally i am looking at my morning oatmeal and it just doesn’t stack up :)
I got through phases where I eat the same thing nonstop, then don’t eat it for awhile. I just miss certain foods when I am at someone’s house and all they have are things like Lucky Charms and yucky PB. That’s a hard adjustment

I think I miss my food if I don’t eat it for one meal, haha. I like the nut butter/nut combo. I use sliced almonds that were meant for salad but taste much better in oats in my opinion

I really start to miss my foods when I don’t eat them. Like oats, peanut butter, nuts and dried fruits. But when I get “back” to them, I enjoy them oh so much :D
I miss my foods after I’ve gone through a long time without eating them. I actually start to crave them after I’ve had my fill of super high calorie food.
I love the crunchiness of raw almonds in almond butter so I usually buy the crunchy raw TJ’s almond butter.
I miss my normal things like hummus and veggies or oatmeal if I don’t eat it for a few days. They are like old friends to me.
after my back to back trips to seattle and lake powell, i had never missed oatmeal, greek yogurt and cottage cheese so much in my life!
i totally miss normal food when I am away for a period of time. I even get anxious about eating ‘different food’ too!
