Cinnamon Raisin Squared

I totally crashed on the couch last night at like 9:30 – I just could not keep my eyes open! I wanted to stay up to watch the new Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, but I only saw a few minutes of it in between my closing eyelids  ;) Oh well! I guess I needed the sleep.

And I got up on time today, unlike yesterday.

I was hungry when I woke up today and was excited to try these new Alvarado St. bagels I found at Martin’s this weekend.

I loved their flaxseed bread I got a few months ago, but this was the first time I had ever seen their bagels.

I toasted up one cinnamon raisin bagel and topped it with a Tbsp of cinnamon raisin pb. I know some people would think cinnamon on cinnamon would be too much, but I love it. I don’t think there’s such a thing as too much cinnamon.

With a sliced local gala apple on the side, this should keep me full for a while.

Off to work!

What’s your favorite type of apple?

I love galas, honeycrisp, and pink lady, but I’ll pretty much eat an apple as long as it’s good.

I’m like you, I’ll eat any apple as long as it’s good!

  3. Fuji is my favorite but I’d love to try honeycrisp!

  4. For a snack I like the sweeter ones better, like Gala. But for cooking I love Boscop! We have a huge Boscop apple tree on our grounds in France and I know I’m looking forward to many homemade compotes and applesauces this year!

  5. I did stay up for DDD, but don’t worry–they usually air the reruns 100 more times in the next month (I just love Guy-what can I say?).

As for apples, I like Gala or Red Delicious when I’m snacking. I used to be hooked on Fuji, but now I just think they’re a bit watery and tasteless.

  6. I’m a honeycrisp and gala kinda girl. :)

  7. My favorite apples are honey crisp by leaps and bounds. I also only eat apples in the fall when they are in season because otherwise, they just don’t taste good to me.

  8. I love Honeycrisp, Fuji, Pink Lady, Granny Smith…

  9. Honeycrisp…..love ’em!

You can NEVER have too much cinnamon. I have some every day. I’ve put cinnamon on some crazy things….like eggs…and its good! My favorite splurge breakfast used to be a cinnamon cheese muffin with a cinnamon latte. Man… those were the days!

  10. you’re right…there is no such thing as too much cinnamon! my favorite type of apple is granny smith :)

I LOVE apples. My old favorite used to be golden delicious, because they are softer. The hard ones hurt my jaw! But my NEW fave is definitely honeycrisps. SO sweet!

  17. Honeycrisp or pink lady! Oh and I am loving the winesaps we got this weekend. Have a great day lady!

  18. Hi Brandi,

I went on a pre K class trip last week to the apple orchards and they handed out macoun apples, none of us have ever heard of them before, but watching how all the kids ate them, we bought bags of them. So my dd would say macouns. Me, I am a red delicious girl, something about a nice dark red apple. But sooner or later you always rub off on me, Just so you know, I have been eyeing the other apples.
    :)

  19. I like a red delicious
One week that bread was on sale very cheap at Stop and Shop so I really wanted to try it. We went to not 1, or 2, but 3 stop and shops looking for it. We even called and they said they had it. But we never found it :-(

  20. excited to meet you at foodbuzz festttttttt :)

  21. honeycrisps & cortlands!! yum :)

  22. I did the same thing last night. I fell asleep on the couch while Hunni had an evening meeting. Then he chased me to bed about 9PM.

I love almost any apple but it depends on the flavor if I eat it alone or with something.

I hear you on the cinnamon. I douse things and most people think its too much. But I LOVE it!

  23. Love me a red delicious! I’ve never heard of a pink lady. I swear I learn something new from blogging everyday!

  24. My step-son is the same about cinnamon – so at Christmas I make him cinnamon chex mix and for his birthday, I make him carrot cake with cinnamon cream cheese frosting!
