Sunday Napping

I kind of like not turning the computer on all day on Sundays.

They’re often the most busy/calm days we have – does that make sense? We usually have a lot of things to do, but they’re all easy things around the house or things that are just fun.

Last night was so much fun. We hung out with 6 other couples that are around our ages from church, played some games, and had some good desserts. It was nice getting to talk to more of them and get to know them better.

I guess I should start at the beginning, huh? :)

I fell asleep last night on the couch while trying to stay up and watch the end of the FSU / Georgia Tech game, so I woke up pretty tired.

Nick also had to do sound at church, which meant we needed to leave earlier than usual.

I ended up heating up the last serving of my carrot cake oatmeal and coated it with a nice, healthy layer of almond butter.

Quick, easy, and super filling.

We also had a potluck at church today that we totally forgot about, so I ran over to the grocery store before church to pick up some salad for it.

The potluck was good, as usual, and just gave us more time to sit and talk with people.

We came home, I started some laundry, and broke into this little treat I bought at a little bake sale in town yesterday.

Yeah…it’s a brownie cupcake with a Reese’s cup in the middle!

and then, we napped! It was awesome, and just what we needed. Nick and Roxy slept for about an hour, and I probably slept for 30-45 minutes while the first load of laundry was washing.

Once we all woke up from our nap, I got started on cleaning the house/laundry and Nick cut the grass.

After our run yesterday and walking the 2 miles back and forth to the stadium…my legs were tight. I really didn’t want to run today, but I needed to do it and the weather was just perfect.

Nick and I ended up running about 5.5 miles or so. We didn’t use our HRMs again, so I’m not exactly sure of the mileage, but it was close.

My legs were pretty tight on the run, but I felt pretty good overall. I’m just happy we went – it got me back on schedule.

We were actually just going to do a short run today and do the longer one tomorrow, but we had leftovers waiting for dinner so it worked out well.

We had some of the leftover pasta I made last night and some green beans on the side.

I’m actually happy dinner was so easy because I ended up making another batch of cookies for Nick tonight  ;)  What can I say…he’s a cookie monster.

I’ve got one load of laundry to fold and some Iron Chef to watch while I unwind.

Is tomorrow really Monday again?

And no worries for not turning your computer on!! While I certainly did turn my computer on (I usually watch a lot of tv series on the computer day-in-day-out) I couldn’t bring myself to blog… And it felt really good…!! ;)
Hope you had an easy sunday at last and I wish you a good start into this new week!! Hug n.

  11. I hear ya on not turning on the computer. I need to get into the habit of doing that every now and then.

I also need to make some of that carrot cake oatmeal. I have a ton of carrots to use up plus some shredded coconut!

  12. Okay, I have to get the recipe/try to make those cupcakes! I make a similar recipe (Peanut Butter cookies in a mini-muffin pan, then press down a Reese’s Cup in the middle) and LOVE it.

I am addicted to the computer…it is bad! I could go without watching TV for days, but not without being on the computer/internet. It almost feels freeing without it, though, ya know?

  13. i like staying off the computer for the most part on sunday as well! technology break :) that cupcake is awesome. monday came too soon!

  14. as if a chocolate cupcake wasn’t good enough on it’s own — you add a reeses cup.. I bow down to you oh baking genius!
