Monday Madness

Well, we mad it home safely.  Nick and his mom finished working on the spray skirt around 4:30 yesterday, so we packed up the truck and got on the road. We got home a little before 8 last night, unpacked the truck, and I headed to the grocery store to get the rest of the stuff I needed.

I am glad that it’s light for so long, because getting home later in the evening on Sunday and having to get ready for work Monday morning is never fun. We got all our bags unpacked and most of the stuff put away – I have a fun night ahead of laundry, cooking, cleaning  :)

Nick wanted a frozen pizza last night for dinner + lunch leftovers today, so I bought him one but when I opened it at home, the cheese on the frozen pizza was moldy! It grossed me out.

We had some of the ham/corn salad topping from the other night, so we both had salads last night at 9:15 or so for dinner. I got in my pajamas, watched a little Iron Chef and then headed to bed.

And now it’s Monday. Our Monday mornings are always a little more rushed than other days because the trash comes today so we’re shoving that out the door while trying to pack up our stuff for work and everything else.

oatmeal

Monday morning oatmeal seems to have special powers, though.

How can your day be anything but good when you start off with this?

Do you unpack right when you get home from a trip or later?

  1. Definitely later. I am such a procrastinator when it comes to unpacking!

  2. I’m such a procrastinator when it comes to unpacking. I usually just leave my bag sitting there and pull things out I want to wear till finally I get the energy to unpack it all. It’s a pain so i always wait it out as long as possible. Your oats look so good, I should have had oats this morning!

  3. Ugh, I unpack when I need the stuff from my bag… I’ve been traveling every weekend so it’s just easier to leave it “packed”!

  4. welcome home :) I have to unpack ASAP- I don’t even take my coat off, lol.

Enjoy your day- a Monday starting with a fab bowl of oats is bound to be a winner :D

  5. I definitely like to unpack right when I get home. I hate seeing unpacked things everywhere!

  6. I prefer to unpack as soon as I get home, but I get so distracted with other things that it rarely happens!

Your oatmeal looks lovely today :)

  7. Lovely fruit in that bowl!

I unpack RIGHT AWAY. I don’t know why. It’s a thing. I am usually exhausted after a trip and if I don’t, I’ll crash on the couch and not want to do it later!

  8. welcome back! bfast looks beautiful :D
hahaha i don’t unpack for a week or so… i just hate it!

  9. I usually try to unpack right away, but it never happens :)

Mondays are made extra easier with a bowl of oatmeal to enjoy!

  10. I’m pretty efficient at packing and unpacking, but if I got home that late at night I’m sure it wouldn’t get done until the next day. But I would definitely be stressed about all during work because I’m anal like that.

Glad you had a good trip! Ewwww moldy pizza!

  11. lovely oatmeal! I never unpack as soon as I get home, I’m so bad at it!

  12. I hate unpacking!! I always procrastinate that and ultimately just end up dumping EVERYTHING (clean or not) into the laundry.

  13. Love your breakfast – glad you got home safe.

I would let it sit for 3 weeks, however my husband and daughter are IMMEDIATE unpackers, so I follow suit! :D

  14. I unpack right away – I can’t relax until I do! I’m the same way when I move – I don’t sleep for days!

  15. It really depends on what time I get home. If it’s early, say before my normal bed time, I’ll unpack right away and usually get laundry started. If it’s past bed time, the unpacking waits.
