Countdown to Dessert

Today is flying by! I hope it keeps at it, because I’m ready to go home and get started on Nick’s birthday dinner!

I made coffee this morning for us (at Nick’s request), so I did have a cup of that at work with a little skim milk.

I made some of the new coffee Nick got from my sister and her husband. It’s a Starbucks blend called Cafe Estima – it’s really good! And I didn’t do too bad of a job making the coffee this morning, either. Nick’s is still better  :)

Lunch today was leftovers of the stirfry from last night with some brown rice, and a side of edamame.

This stuff got spicier overnight! It was super hot & spicy  – I liked it, but I wasn’t expecting it to be this much hotter today.

Good thing I have this juicy orange to cool my mouth down!

Nick and I took a short lunch break today so we can go pick up our car today!!! As far as we know, all the repairs should be done. I cannot wait to get the car back. It seems like the accident was forever ago, and I miss our car.

After that, it’s time for a special birthday grilling session (as long as the weather holds out) + the most decadent dessert I’ve ever made. Believe me – you want to see this.

I can’t wait!

  1. Mmmm your lunch looks so good, and it has such good variety! I love that you had the orange to balance out the spice factor. Have a great afternoon and I can’t wait to see the dessert!

  2. Stir fry leftovers are always a winner! For some reason even though I looooove edamame, I never think of taking it with me for my lunch. Maybe it’s something about eating it in public? I don’t know, that’s silly. Ha!

  3. Can’t wait to see the dessert!

Your lunch looks super yummy. I love a lil spice with my veggies.

  4. Oh, you know I love dessert!!! I can’t wait to see what you whip up! :-)

I’m glad you’re getting the car back.

  5. Some things are so much better as leftovers, all of the flavors just blend perfectly :)

    Have fun tonight!

  6. Tell Mr. Nick happy birthday from the blogging community! I can’t wait to see what you make for dessert!!! I havent had a lot of time to bake recently so I can live vicariously through you!!

  7. I love when flavors meld overnight – yum! Can’t wait to see what you have up your sleeve for dessert!! Glad you’re getting your car back!
