Run Over

Thank you all so much for your comments, thoughts, and prayers. Thankfully, nothing is wrong with my knee – we went to the ER yesterday and the doctor had some x-rays done just to make sure my knee cap wasn’t chipped or anything since my knee jammed into the dashboard on the side.

As far as I know, nothing is badly hurt – I mainly just feel like I got ran over by a bus this morning. Everything hurts today, and that’s what they told me would happen. I’m so stiff and sore, and have bruises popping up everywhere.

I have a scrape and bruise on my neck/collarbone from the seat belt grabbing me when I was thrown forward.

My nose and chin are super sore from the airbag hitting me in the face.

I have a bruise/scrape on each hip from where the seat belt dug into my hips when our cars collided.

I have a nice little bruise/welt on my knee from hitting the dashboard.

But I’m okay and lucky to only have scrapes and bruises. I just look like a 90 year old woman walking around my house since I can’t move fast or gracefully right now.

The doctor told me that even though I’m going to feel pretty bad today and tomorrow, I need to move as much as possible and that would help with the soreness. I didn’t go to church this morning since I was hurting so bad when I woke up this morning, so I’m trying to move a little bit while Nick is gone this morning. He took our overflowing hamper downstairs this morning for me, so I’m slowly working on the laundry that has built up over the past 2 weeks. I feel a little bit better than I did right when I woke up this morning, but I have a feeling I’ll be going to see my chiropractor this week as my neck is really, really stiff and sore today on the left side.

I’m not going to be blogging as usual today since I just don’t think I have the energy, but I did want to post some pictures of our car since I told my parents I would  :) We just got this car 2 years ago, and at first, I think I was more mad/upset about the car than everything else that happened. This was such a good car.

We haven’t heard yet if they can repair the car or if they’re just going to total it out – I think with all the stuff that would have to be fixed, it will cost too much to fix it. So…we may be looking for a new car soon. In case you can’t tell, Hondas hold up pretty well in accidents – I will say that. Even though I was scared out of my mind when that lady pulled across in front of me, I can’t believe that the car didn’t have more damage, considering how loud everything was in the car when it was happening. When all you hear inside the car is crashes, windows breaking, brakes squealing, the airbags popping out….you imagine the worst. This car was built well, and I’m pretty sure it’s the reason I wasn’t hurt worse – plus the seat belt.

I have plenty of laundry to help keep me busy today and hopefully a new baking project that I think Nick is going to help me with? That should be fun if it works out.

Thank you again for all your comments and thoughts and notes -I really appreciate every one  :)

  1. Brandi,
Oh my gosh, I am so sorry about your wreck. Your car looks totaled to me, and I’m so thankful no one was hurt.

After the bruising clears up, you should treat yourself to a massage!

Take care today, keep moving, and make sure to get plenty of rest. I’m sending healing thoughts your way and praying for you. :)

  8. I can’t imagine what the other driver was thinking! To pull into your lane to make a U turn no less. So glad you are safe and have Nick to take care of you today. Don’t be in a hurry to go back to work…..sitting at your desk will be tough!

  9. Just catching up on my blog reading – so sorry to hear about your car accident – but luckily it is just bruises and scrapes!!
