Read, Run, Rain, Refuel

I started a brand new book this morning and it’s great so far. I love everything by Mary Higgins Clark, though, so I’m a little biased. I ordered her new book sometime last week, hoping it would be here before our weekend trip but it just came yesterday so I had to start it after I finished my coffee mystery book last night  :)

I also finally ordered Holy Yoga and am excited to start that soon, too. I have about 5 books that I’m currently reading, so I need to actually finish a few before I start any more!

Right now, I’m reading:

  • Just Take My Heart by M.H.Clark
  • French Women for All Seasons by Mireille Guiliano
  • Animal, Vegetable, Miracle  by Barbara Kingsolver
  • Through the Grinder by Cleo Coyle
  • My Heart’s Desire by David Jeremiah

A little much? I can’t help it! I’ve had some of these books waiting on me since last year. I tried not to read any non-school books last semester so I wouldn’t get distracted from my school work so I’m just now catching up on everything. and I love it. I wish I could just get paid to read books all day.

I wasn’t planning on running today since the weather was supposed to be nasty, but it wasn’t! I took advantage of our nice weather while I could and went for a run while Nick ran a couple of errands. I think I did about 3.6 or so miles today. The weather was great for the first 2/3 of the run, but near the end, it started raining. Not pouring, thank goodness! The rain actually felt good, but I was glad I went when I did so I wasn’t completely soaked when I got back.

My lunch, despite not having as much protein as normal, held me over all afternoon. We ate breakfast later than normal since we had our shots this morning, so that probably made a difference. I did get really hungry in the middle of my run, though – all I could think about was dinner for the entire second half of the run, except for one minute when I decided “I want some Reisen“. I saw an empty bag across the street and it really made me want some.

Dinner tonight was leftover pasta and sauce from last night, so I made another pasta bowl!

Basically the same as last night and it was so good last night, I was really looking forward to it!

Spinach + Green beans + whole wheat angel hair + meat/mushroom sauce

If you want to see a layer-by-layer description, check out Mara’s blog tonight – I’m her dinner guest!  :) Thanks for having me, Mara!

I’m off to finish packing my lunch for tomorrow and then have a snack while watching The Office – I’m definitely lower on calories today than normal and am looking forward to my popcorn and possibly a glass of chocolate milk.

Do you read more than one book at a time?

Have you ever had Reisen? i. love. them and have not had them in a long time. they’re addicting.

  1. I have tried reading two books at one time and was so lost. I don’t think I really grasped either plots so I try to stick with one at a time. Looks like you have some good reading ahead of you though!

  2. I totally read a hundred books at once! I LOVE it :)

  3. I totally read more than one book at a time!! OH and Riesen are some of my absolute favorite candies!

  4. My thesis proposal is due July 9th….up till then no fun reading, but I’m going to go NUTS when I’m done!! :-D

  5. I’m always in the middle of 6 books!! I have no attention span :-)

Running in the rain can be so refreshing!

  6. I usually have one audiobook in the car, one in the kitchen, one in the bathroom, as well as an audiobook loaded on my MP3 player to use when I walk the dog. I also have a regular book on my nightstand, one at work to read during lunch, and one that I’m reading with my 11-year-old.
