Green Energy

Good morning! I hope you’re all having a great weekend so far – ours is just starting and today should be a lot of fun.

Beadie brought me some super greens food powder to try – why do I still try stuff when it’s prefaced by “This stuff is nasty; I’m bringing you some to try”? :) I can’t say much, though, I do the same thing to other people.

It smelled like hamster cage lining stuff. Appetizing, right?

Beadie suggested that I mix it with a little juice instead of straight water, which I did. I think it helped a lot!

I shook up about half of what Beadie brought me with 1/2 cup water, about 1/4-1/3 cup oj, and this little raspberry juice shot I got in some race packet a while ago. I thought ice would help since my water wasn’t super cold, and it definitely made it easier to drink.

Honestly, it wasn’t too bad! The worst part was still the smell – it mainly tasted like the raspberry juice and orange juice, so I just tried to drink it without really breathing in, which is hard. I feel great though! I had this right after I got up this morning, about 2 hours before I had breakfast and I feel like I have a lot of energy, but not “caffeine” energy. I still have some left, so I’m sure you’ll see this again  :)

I talked to my mom for a while for our normal Saturday morning phone call, too. Hi Mom! Hi Dad and Melissa! My dad is heading out to bike week today, so he better be safe and wear some sunscreen!

After drinkin’ my greens, Nick and I got started on breakfast.

I had some eggs and grits

Plus one slice of bacon and 1/2 an orange that we split this morning

and a cup of our new coffee we picked up yesterday. Mmm. It was good.

I’m going to start a load of laundry before Beadie and Mike get here for a fun afternoon of hiking and an awesome dinner surprise  :)

Do you still try stuff when someone tells you it’s gross?

I do  :)  Unless it’s something I’ve tried before and didn’t like or just something that I know I won’t be able to stomach at all.

After typing all this, I saw Jenna’s post and feel like everything else just doesn’t matter today. I am praying that God will give them strength and peace with the knowledge that He is in everything, even when it doesn’t make sense to us. That His plans often don’t make sense to us, but He is still there. Life is not ever what we expect, and it is often painful and heartbreaking, but without pain, we would know no joy.

Please, please send your good thoughts and prayers to Jenna and her family today.
