Today wasn’t too bad – work was busy, which made the day go faster. It seemed like my email never quit chiming today, but at least they were coming in one at a time today and not 5 or 10 at a time like some days.
I brought another one of my Oikos yogurts to try for a snack this afternoon, and today was the vanilla flavor.
I brought a little of my TJ’s fruit and nut medley cereal to try on the yogurt for a little crunch
The Verdict? I really do like the texture of the Oikos yogurts, but this my least favorite of the 3 kinds I got (blueberry, plain, vanilla). I think I’m just not a big fan of vanilla flavored yogurts as they’re always tangier than I want/expect. I guess when I think/hear “vanilla”, I expect it to taste like vanilla ice cream so I’m always disappointed. This wasn’t bad, but not my favorite. I do like that it has 15 grams of protein in this container, though! The snack held me over well.
We didn’t run today – we ended up doing some comparison shopping for lawnmowers. Some gear on ours broke yesterday, and it’s not too much more to just buy a whole new lawnmower instead of just replacing the part. I think we found the one we’re getting, but Nick is looking up reviews and stuff right now to make sure.
I had a fun package at home waiting for me! I was wondering when these would get here :)
My blogging business cards from Foodbuzz showed up today, and they are super cute! I love how tiny they are and that each one has a different food on it! Thanks Foodbuzz! I feel so professional.
Dinner tonight started out as one plan, but my chicken wasn’t completely thawed when we got home so I threw together this quick meal I’ve been waiting to make.
I had ripped this recipeout of a Better, Homes and Garden magazine last year, but kept forgetting about it. I finally had all the stuff AND remembered to make it tonight, and I’m glad I did!
I cut the recipe in half so we would only have 2 total servings for tonight, and I used just balsamic vinegar instead of the balsamic vinaigrette since I didn’t have any on hand. I also used whole wheat noodles from the Amish market and roasted red peppers.
It still amazes me to watch greens wilt down. It just seems so strange that I can put in 2 packed cups of spinach that take up the entire pan and end up with a teeny tiny pile once they’ve wilted. Maybe that’s so people will eat more greens? It doesn’t seem like so much once they’re cooked :)
I think I’m going to try one of my new baked goods with some tea, maybe take a bath and read a little. I don’t have much else to do tonight – it seems strange. I’m going to fold the last load of laundry and finish packing my lunch.
I’ll have a review/recipe for my new baked good soon!

Thanks for the Oikos review, I have that flavor waiting for me in my fridge!
Lovely dinner!
Hooray for Foodbuzz goodies!!
I’m wary of flavored oikos. I think I’m scared of the sugar. But I do love topping the plain with all kinds of things! I had applesauce with mine today. It was greaT!
Oh wow, delicious dinner! Total drool factor.
Your dinner looks great!
I don’t like the vanilla Oikos by itself either…I always mix it with some sugar free strawberry preserves and it tastes great!
Yay for the biz cards :)
That chicken looks outstanding. I must try the recipe.
