Rain Ahead!

It is coming down this morning! I guess it’s a good thing I ran last night – it looks like it won’t be nice again here until Saturday  :(

I guess the “April Showers” are coming true for us! We definitely need the rain – I think our area is still considered in “drought” after the lack of rain last year. I do like that the grass turns greener almost automatically after getting this rain! It makes me happy that everything isn’t brown anymore.

I actually woke up this morning before my alarm went off! Too bad I didn’t get up at that point  :)  I did still get up at a good time and was able to prep a few things for dinner tonight and pack my lunch. I usually try to pack my lunch stuff the night before, but I was working on that document last night and forgot.

Breakfast may look a little familiar, but I did add one thing!

oats

Classic Oats with A Spin

  • 1/2 cup oats, 1 cup water, pinch salt
  • 1/2 banana, sliced
  • 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries
  • lots of cinnamon
  • 3-4 chopped strawberries

I really liked the mix of frozen berries and the fresh strawberries!

I’m also having a hard boiled egg

and a cup of milk

Happy April 1st! I can’t believe March is already over!

Do you set monthly/weekly/daily goals? If so, what are your goals for April?

Mine are:

  • maintain my weight
  • run more!
  • be healthy – whatever that means to me each day
  • read the books that have been waiting on me since school ended in December

  1. OOooo yes I have a lot of April goals… I just started the 30 Day Shred so we’ll see how that goes! I also want to try to do yoga more & run more!

  2. Yes, I do set various different goals. Most of them have to do with my weight. I’ve set up SO many unrealistic goals to loose weight by this or that day only to panic and fail. I know it’s because I set out to loose so much weight within completely unrealistic time frames. So, today I decided that I would give myself until the end of Oh She Glow’s Bikini Body Boot Camp to reach my goal weight, that gives me two months which is much longer than I have given myself before. Beginning now in April my goals are to get out and exercise more, do as much Bikram as I can and actively work towards my goal to reach my goal weight by June 1st!

  3. POURING here!!

Goal for April = ENJOY MY 21ST BIRTHDAY (which is on Monday, the 6th!!) :-D

  4. I’ve been trying to think of a good April goal, so I’m glad you posed the question!! I think it’s just to up the ante on activity—I’ve really enjoyed all the long walks and the little bits of jogging here and there, but I’m ready to start running. Also, SIT-UPS!

  8. Oh I know, March sure flew by! Love your scrumptious eats!

  9. I like setting mini-goals for myself too. My goals for April are:
    1. Try one new recipe/meal each week.
    2. Have a fantastic birthday in Las Vegas.
    3. Spend more time with my family during the week.
    4. Explore expanding my blog and readers.
    5. Find new ways to de-stress!

  10. I haven’t set any goals yet but I was planning on writing some down tonight, thanks for the reminder!

  11. I love all of the good protein in your breakfast! I don’t really have any specific monthly goals, but I’m just hoping to maintain my weight (or lose a little), and get more adept at my new eating style. I also hope to get outside more for exercise and break out of the gym. I’m tired of being cooped up, but that’s what happens when you are a cold weather wimp!

Your list of goals is awesome!

  12. “be healthy – whatever that means to me each day”

I love this goal and would like to adopt it as my own.
