Sunny Sunday

Thanks for all the comments – it was fun hearing everyone’s favorite Easter candies  :)  Those mini cadbury eggs have always been my favorite, but I do love the reese’s eggs, the snickers eggs, and jelly belly’s of course.

Breakfast this morning was a regular Sunday breakfast for us – good thing I love it!

Sunny yellow runny eggs and grits

Some sliced orange and strawberries and a few slices of turkey bacon

fruitbac

And some Kona coffee  :)  It was perfect this morning. We love Kona so much that I think we at least need to go to Hawaii at some point – right? It’s a sign.

After church, Nick and I both had a hankering for New River Grille – it was packed when we got there! I think there were 2 tables left, so I’m glad we got there when we did. We barely (ha, I typed barley first)  found parking!

I started with a little side salad for some green today

Plus some blackened flounder and…..their onion rings  :)  At least I didn’t get the burger and onion rings like I always do! I did try something new!

flounder

Nick did help me with the onion rings – I ate about 5 of them. The flounder was great! Very spicy from the blackened seasoning, but not greasy at all. It was nice and light with a lot of heat. I love blackened fish, and it was all I was thinking about after seeing Meghann’s!

I’ve got a busy afternoon of house stuff to get done, but I’ll be back tonight with all my reflections on the Forbidden Foods challenge. Trust me – it almost needs its own post  :)  This challenge has done more for me that I thought it would.

What are your plans for the rest of your weekend?

I’m going to be cleaning up the house, putting away the rest of the laundry, working on one more healthy baking project! (details later), and a purely comforting dinner recipe we’re trying out.

Make sure to check out some pb action over at Food Snob’s!
