Fruit and Veggie Filled Friday

qbel

Well, this isn’t a fruit or veggie, but I tried the dark chocolate Q.Bel bar last night and it was great! I love these things. This one tasted like it had a bit of a coffee undertone in the chocolate – so good and crispy and light. I can’t wait to try the rest of them  :)

And here’s a shot of what a normal night at our house is like – at least when Roxy is in the cuddling mood.

Now on to breakfast! Small bowl of kiwi, strawberries, raspberries

Eggs and grits and some unpictured coffee

Plus a green smoothie for a mid morning snack!

This one was really good and not very sweet at all, actually.

  • 1 cup milk
  • a few ice cubes
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 small apple
  • about 2 cups of kale (3-4 leaves)
  • 1 Tbsp almond butter

It ended up just tasting like banana and almond butter, which was really good! I can’t wait to try more of these. This was also a nice snack + distraction with all the crazy computer stuff at work today.

My computer ended up being taken away from me around lunchtime. I had an office laptop to use, but I couldn’t access our actual database so I just worked on filing some stuff and keeping up with my emails, at least.

My lunch is unpictured, as I was working with the IT guy until Nick came over to eat, but it wasn’t the most pleasing-t0-the-eye lunch anyways. I had some lentil soup, a cheesy tortilla melt, and an apple. Quick and easy.

The weather is beautiful here today! Nick and I both really wanted to go running after work, but we were so hungry and have so much to do tonight that we decided not to go. No worries, though – I’m going to be running this weekend while the niceness continues  :) It’s probably better that I didn’t go tonight because I’m sore from the run yesterday and bodypump Wednesday, especially in my legs.

Dinner was super quick and easy, too!

Blackened Shrimp, steamed broccoli, and some thawed brown rice that is mixed with black beans, pineapple, and salsa.

Right now I have 2 loads of laundry going, I’m working on my grocery list, and trying to work on a freelance editing piece, too. It’s going to be a busy night AND a busy weekend! I have some fun stuff planned, though:

– My Basil BSI Entry will happen this weekend! I have NO clue how it will turn out, but I’m excited to try it. It sounds good in my head….but who knows what will actually happen.

– Update on the bread experiment – you’ll be surprised, I think!  :)

Thanks for all the notes today – I really appreciated every one of them!!!

Enjoy your Friday night and I’ll see you tomorrow!
